It has all the things I like on a desktop. Enjoy the speed. To sum it up. I like the computer.

Added storage drive to my desktop computer.

For the past two weeks I have been using my new 1.5 TB Elements drive to back up my desktop system. If I leave my processor on overnight, my Acronis True Image 2012 software makes three full backups: a disk image of my C drive, a copy of all C drive files, and an image of e-mail files, after which it shuts down the processor. Since the Elements drive goes into an idle mode, I leave it on all the time. It is large enough to save multiple copies of each backup type, and is fast enough to get the job done in less than two hours.

The 4 TB elements external desktop hard drive by Western Digital was an excellent choice for me to back up my new 3 TB iMac 5K retina computer. Over the years, after using many different hard drive brands, I settled on western digital exclusively. I've never had a problem with any of their hard drives,which cannot be said for Seagate or some of the other hard drive manufacturers. And it was a great price as well.

I recently built a new desktop and added two I Tb WD drives. Performance is as exceptional as expected from Western Digital products.

Needed more diskspace in my desktop for my growing collection of photos. I wanted something fast and multi TB. SSD are still too expensive for this purpose, so I settled on this. Installed it in my Dell 8920 (note: I had to buy a SATA cable). UserBenchMark then gave it some of the highest scores across all HDD, and almost double that of the built-in 1TB Seagate. Using LR Classic CC, it feels speedier when switching between photos.

I got this to edit video off of. Then back up on my desktop. I transferred 1.5tb in about 7 minutes. This drive is perfect. Only minor con is the icon on my desktop is a little smaller than other app icons. Really it's a great drive. Sometimes drives heat up and slow down, but I didn't notice. If that happens I usually use an ice pack on the drives to cool it off, but I didn't need to do that with this drive. I would like an 8tb version.
