10 Gbps Wireless Router

0000-00-00 00:00:00

I was having issues with my smart devices and streaming HDTV. My wireless system was only giving me about 100 Mbps even though my cable internet was 800 Mbps. I looked into buying faster internet and discovered if I I wanted the cable company’s top speed of 1.2 Gbps, I needed a new modem. I purchased the latest and greatest cable modem, which was one model newer and capable of 2.5 Gbps. My internet speed didn’t get better. So, I decided to replace my wireless router. I researched the wireless routers available. The three key areas I concentrated on were the WAN connection speed, coverage and wireless specifications included. The ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 was the best in all three categories and the only router I found that had all three top of the line specifications. WAN - 2.5 Gbps Wireless - WiFi 6E Home Coverage - One router and one node replaced one router and five nodes. My coverage is better with less nodes. All my smart devices and my streaming HDTV are working great and I’m getting 950 Mbps internet speed. Smartest upgrade I’ve made.

Thunderbolt 3 and 4 are both 40 Gbps connections. Thunderbolt 4 is designed so that the hub supports one 10 GBPs PCIe (which is all the USB and other ports), and up to 3 downstream Thunderbolt ports, sharing the remaining 30 GBPs. If you want to attach ultra-fast SSD storage, this technology tops out at 10 GBPs for the storage, and a Thunderbolt 3 hub would be better. The two DisplayPort 1.4 outputs can support up to 30 GBPs of video, but you’ll quickly run out of bandwidth with multiple 4K or 5K displays. This is why some people complain about driving 3 external displays (or even two!). The 40 Gbps total of a single Thunderbolt connection from your computer can’t necessarily support it. On the plus side, if you have reasonable expectations, this hub or a Thunderbolt 3 hub will deliver outstanding single-cable connectivity between your laptop and all your devices.

This Wi-Fi adapter is the truth. With Wi-Fi 6 and 6e you get blazing fast speeds. You will have to have a router that broadcast 6 adn 6e. I have the eero Pro 6E from my internet provider, I get 1 Gbps down and 525 Mbps up and this adapter screams right along with that router to downlaod and upload really fast. I mainly use my 2.5 Gbps lan jack on my pc but it's great to have the option. I mainly use this for the bluetooth 5.2. Make sure you have a free usb slot on your motherboard to take advatage of this feature. If you do you will love this card even more.

I just installed this router and it is maximizing every ounce of my 1 gbps feed. Very impressed with the application for your phone and it makes everything really simple. Now I am future proof, fingers crossed fiber will get to my area soon, just thinking a out fiber and this router's capability is sick!

Quality modem and router! Works very good. Downloads and uploads are very fast! I have 1.2 Gbps internet and it provides the maximum performance for it.

Bought this to replace a Google Nest mesh system, which had been starting to annoy me. This thing is light years better, and worth every penny. The performance is stellar....I've got a 1.4 gbps connection through Xfinity and I'm getting around 1.3 gbps on the 6 Ghz band, and around 700-800 mbps on the 5 ghz band when in the same room as router or satellite (and that's with wireless backhaul but I plan to switch to wired backhaul once I get a hole cut to run wires). The range is outstanding...5 ghz speeds still hold up around 500 mbps through multiple walls. Speeds still hold up well even when signal strength is around -70 dbm. By comparison, the best speeds I would get on the Nest were 500-600 mbps when in same room as router, and speeds would drop to 100-200 through walls/distance. Plus I needed 3 points in my house on Nest where I only need two for the ET12. The customization and options beat every other mesh out there. Nest gave me limited options which made things frustrating (like no ability to separate bands or filter by band). For example, sometimes my bedroom TV would connect to 2.4 ghz band when in same room as Nest, when I wanted 5. With the ET12, I was able to block the TV from the 2.4 band to force it to connect to the 5 band and still keep single SSID. There are tons of other options as well. 100% happy with this purchase, and delivery from B&H was very fast.

I've been waiting for an affordable rack-mount 10Gbps router from a reputable company, and it's finally here! I'm using this router for a 10Gbps internet connection. I'm getting around 8200 Mbps throughput, which is around the same as what I get if I connect my PC directly to my ONT. Unlike some other competing products, TP-Link's hardware is sufficient to actually handle these fast speeds. My internet provider (Sonic) use copper 10GBase-T (standard Ethernet cables) for their ONT, so I'm using a Wiitek SFP-10G-T module in the WAN SFP+ port. The other SFP+ port goes to a MikroTik CRS312-4C+8XG 10Gbps switch that my devices are plugged in to. I haven't tested many of the built-in features yet, including the Omada controller. I don't really need any fancy features - I was upgrading from a basic consumer-grade wifi router, so honestly any router would have been fine for me. You don't have to use an Omada controller, especially if you just have one TP-Link device to administer, as the router has a decent web UI built-in. One of the main downsides of this router is that the eight Ethernet ports are only Gigabit. I really wish TP-Link would have at least made these 2.5Gbps ports. I guess they had to limit them to Gigabit to reach their $350 price point, but I would have been happy to pay a bit more to get 2.5Gbps. Having said that, Gigabit is still plenty of bandwidth for many devices, and you still get the full throughput across all the ports (each one can be concurrently downloading at 1Gbps, using ~8Gbps upstream bandwidth). If you want to get 2.5Gbps or 10Gbps on downstream devices, I'd recommend also buying a 2.5Gbps or 10Gbps switch that has an 10Gbps SFP+ uplink, and connect it to the SFP+ LAN port on the ER8411 via a DAC cable.

I had some issues using the Volt 176 with USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) ports and I think it was causing the inconsistent playback/distortion. The two older USB 3.2 Gen 1 port (5 Gbps) work with this interface with no issues. Overall sound quality is decent for the price, the only downside is the lack of clean gain for dynamic mics so you may need a booster depending on which model you have.

Ubnt offers a great 10 Gbps switch cheap compared to the RJ45 Netgear which easily stats around $1,500 for the same amount of ports. So far the switch has been great and I would recommend this switch to anyone looking for a great 10 Gbps switch.

10Gbps speed is well worth it. Great purchase, great price, amazing B&H.
