10Gb Ethernet Card

Connect Ethernet one end, thunderbolt the other. Plug in, done. It works at 10gb perfectly. One surprise, it has a fan. It’s quiet tho.

For those who want to start on the 10Gb Ethernet this product is a great deal. It has 2 10Gbe port so I can connect my Mac mini and my NAS directly and increase my speeds from 110Mb/s to 450Mb/s Write and 950Mb/s Read. Beside that, we have 4 additional 2.5Gbe ports so I can use with other Macs with faster speeds than before! I'm loving it!!

This is a very good transceiver for the price. It allows you to adapt SFP+ to 1, 2.5, 5.0 and 10Gb Ethernet. Used this as the downlink from Netgate 4200 2.5Gb to UniFi USW-Aggregation switch. It does use more power than typical fiber or optical transceiver, but well worth it for this use case.

I've been waiting for 10Gb networks to come down in price so that I could use the extra speed for video editing. This combo card allows me to upgrade my Diskstation to 10Gb AND add M.2 storage for a speedy cache. Best of both worlds. I wish I didn't have to remove the drives to open up the case to install the card but it fit easily enough, the process was smooth and it freed up the other four (4) 1Gb ports on my DiskStation to be bonded into a 4Gb port utilizing my managed switch in Link Aggregation mode. Card is connected by Cat6A cable to a 10Gb switch connected to my video editing station.

I upgraded my network to 10Gb, and this little card stand out from the rest, it is probably one of the few ones that are Gen4. I tested on X4 and I was able to get 8Gb/s transfer rate (which is the limit for Gen4x4) installing drivers was simple to get the *inf file from Marvel. I ran into an issue that on high bandwidth, the network card disconnects and required me to restart the adapter, after talking to the excellent customer services, turned out to be an old / conflicting driver that was causing the issue. removing that solved the problem.

Ethernet cables are ethernet cables, but these are fine!

Good 10GB patch cable

Fast and works as expected. Be sure to install the card, and boot up the Synology, THEN move the ethernet cord to it. Seems to not be recognized on initial startup.

I had to buy this item because the Motherboard Ethernet connection gave out, The PCI card slots are already in USE, one for the sound and the other for the USB 2.0 4 + 1 card is how I wanted to connect to my home network, and the third PCI slot is used for additional SATA/IDE port to increase the Page file for the PC with Windows XP Pro. Windows balked that I had to reacivate it, as to pay for Windows 8, as that was NO DICE!! I had to reinstall Windows XP Pro myself in which case, I already had the DVD OF, bought and paid for. This adaptor is the second ome I bought, as this mad it possible to activate it on line very quickly after I got everything back to normal. Windows does not like too many hardware changes!!! The original Ethernet adaptor did not need the CD to install its drivers, but the NEW ONE did! It is a BOO! on this process, it culd be plug and play ONLY!!!

I have this for my MacBook Pro 13. I have an external monitor, card reader, three external drives and for a while an ethernet cable to my router connected to it and everything works flawlessly.
