I'm a big fan of rechargeable batteries. Saves a ton of money in the long run. This charger and battery combo is perfect. I love the big LCD display. It lets you know the status of the battery and charging levels which is very helpful. I've had other chargers in the past that would just blink, or give a red/green light. Having a descriptive display is so much better, as you can gauge how much power is left or how much more needs to charge for the batteries to be ready. This is vital. It can also discharge the battery to refresh them. This is also a very handy feature to extend the life of the rechargeable batteries. It will not only charge AA but AAA batteries and I plan to get some AAA's to partner with the AA's that came with this. The batteries themselves work great and last a long time. If you use rechargeable AA's or AAA's, you should have a decent charger. Most chargers charge in banks of 2 or 4. That means that the battery will be treated the same as its neighbor. Better chargers charge each battery independently of the others. This way, the batteries get what they need. The best chargers give you metering on each battery. I've always had good luck with Watson products. This charger keeps the streak going.

Arrived with full battery charge, self-diagnostics report steady voltage on AC, have not had a power outage since installing the briefcase sized device. Slight chemical odor even after a week or so. At 20W (basic HP AIO desktop with a laptop CPU) predicts 6 hours (360 min) of runtime.

I purchased this charger to charge 8 AA Watson rechargeable batteries to be used in my 2 new Canon 600EX-RT flashes. The individual charging display is great. Charger does take longer than mentioned in the instruction manual but that's okay since I always have fully charged spares.

I appreciate that this battery pack came with two ways to use it. To put in AA batteries or to use the rechargeable batteries. Love the thought process in the details as well. Having a shutter button on the battery pack makes up for adding bulk to the camera. Yes this is my first battery pack I have gotten.

Like this head light very much. It is still on the AA batteries it came with and I have the rechargeable battery fully charged and waiting for use. I bought this because my son has taken my older one for his own use. The only downside is it has no port to recharge the battery. So I put it in my older one for a charge. BUT I LOVE IT......
