Maybe this isn't quite what Sony had in mind for it's adapter. I use a 12 volt dc sealed cell battery, plug a 120 volt converter into that, then convert it back into dc with the Sony adapter. I do that for extreme extended battery use for astrophotography field use. It seems to work fine. There's no overheating in any part of my contraption, including the Sony Adapter. 5 |

I love this camera, it’s one of my favourite so far. The fact that under status you can tell you are using the 12 volt SPYPOINT battery is wonderful addition. The only thing left to make it better is to indicate the power left on you 12 volt external battery 5 |

if you use a dr-100 for field recording, you know that the lithium battery (bpl-2) does not last too long if phantom power is needed. i have 2 batteries and i run out of power every time. when this external battery came out, i bought it very fast to try it. for my surprise it works amazingly good. highly recommended. i use 6 duracell 2450 mah on it and it lasts for many, many hours using the phantom power on my dr-100. cheers 5 |

I love how the Charger easily charges the Battery in less than 1 hour. And the Battery life is a mere 9 to 12 hours. Prefect for a whole days production shoot without even thinking of having to recharge. Excellente' !!! 5 |

They said to remove the vent cover a half hour before use. I removed the cover and measured about a half volt. An hour later, 1.35 volts. Installed them, and now my vintage Luna Pro works perfectly! Great solution to replace an obsolete part! 5 |

This battery last me a day of shooting though I don't shoot 100% of the time in a 10 hour day. Waiting to see how long it powers my camera and a monitor. Its also smaller than I was expecting compared to some B4B I am used to using. 5 |
