[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for a Solid State Drive with faster speed. The Kingston A400 - 120GB Solid State Drive Is much faster than the standard SSD that came in my gaming computer. I feel like the drive really improves the speed and quality of my computer. I would completely recommend the Kingston A400 120GB Solid State Drive to anyone that is looking to improve the quality of their SSD. 5 |

I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it! 5 |

If you are installing an internal Solid State Drive to your desktop computer, you'll need this SATA wire unless you are able to scavenge one off another attached device that you no longer use. It attaches to the back of the SSD (or other SATA device) and to the mother board. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this solid state drive as a boot disk for one of my mini pc's. It was a quick and easy install. By putting the OS on the ssd, the pc boots up and starts so much faster than it used to. 120gb isn't a huge amount, nowadays, but it is enough to put most of my regular use programs on and run the peripherals off the external hard drive. I'm currently building a gaming pc and will incorporate ssd boot up in it, for sure. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great little solid state drive, which is ideal if you are upgrading an old system. I still use a traditional hard drive for storing all my media and important data, but if you are reinstalling your operating system then this makes a tired computer very snappy indeed. Gone are the days it took 5 minutes to boot up to a usable desktop, in less than 30 seconds it's ready to go. The drive is a 2.5" form factor which is good for laptops or desktops alike. Rather than spend money on drivebay converters for the latter I just used a few cable ties through the mounting holes and attached to the side of the drive bay brackets. It weighs barely anything and has no moving parts anyway. The read/write speeds are impressive for such a budget device and if used as a boot drive rather than for any work it should last many many years. The drive case looks pretty durable and you can remove it if you so wish. The pcb and chips inside actually occupy only half the space. 5 |

I am using MX500's in my desktop as my boot drive and my Atomos Ninja V. Fair price, and they work well. It's a SATA interface, so that's your limiting factor, and these saturate it, so not much more to ask for. 5 |

Being a SATA rather than NVME drive, it's not the best out there. However, it is definitely worth the money. Sequetial read/write speeds are around 450-500 MB per second and boot times are around 13 seconds for windows 10 on newly built PC. I wish boot times were a little faster, but this SSD definitely gets the job done quite well, so no major complaints from me. 5 |

I bought this card about six months ago to the SATA SSD in a Dell Precision 5810 workstation using a 1 terabyte Samsung 970 Evo Plus as the boot drive. It was easy to setup and the performance has been great. I work in technology for a living and have been buying parts like this from StarTech for 10 plus years and I've never been disappointed with their products or their support. If I were, I have no doubt they would take care of it. Before you install any kind of PCI Express card to use an NVMe SSD as a boot drive, do the research to make sure your systems supports it. Otherwise, that's on you for not "reading the directions". 5 |
