12V Powered Computer Monitor

Perfect for the right occasions!!! Let's first talk about the mounting option accessories that ship with it so you can configure it to mount to cameras, providing various solutions. That's sooo smart. The build... DTap and other sources are well placed and can be used for multitudes of equipment. Crazy. The battery lasts a. Long. Long. Time!! I used it for more than it's "intended" purpose on a music video shoot. I rigged a 7" 12v monitor (DTap), powered a follow focus knob (5V), a wireless HD video receiver (12v), and .... something else. Effortless. The team loved the rig!!... you could see the gears in their minds spinning with possibilities !!!!!! Think outside of the box with this unit. Each item also had a battery attached for backup power IN CASE the handle dropped out at anytime. At that point, it could still be a handle. It lasted the ENTIRE duration of my needs... easy 6 hours without depleting. It's chunky even in a large hand, so be mindful of fatigue if rigged onto a heavy system. I first used it on a caged BMD 6K and it flowed easily for 3.5 hours. It powered the camera, and a 7" monitor for what I recall to be the entire live event (intermittent use, but powered up 85% of the time) Have a great time with the unit!!! The Viewsonic VG1655 is an amazing monitor. It feels solid and the image is bright, sharp, saturated, and truly gorgeous. The screen's 16:9 aspect ratio allows multiple app windows to be displayed simultaneously while remaining readable, even with the Windows Scale display setting at 100% rather than 125%. The rear has a swing-out support that can prop up the monitor horizontally or vertically. The magnetic snap-on screen protector is actually quite rigid when mounted and should provide ample protection. The included cables should handle any connection scheme. My application is as a part of a telescope control computer that can be taken into the field. The computer is a mini-PC that normally runs off a 12Vdc adapter. The monitor can be powered from one of the computer's USB ports. With a 12V/6000mAh lithium battery, the entire package will run for about four hours. Haven't tried it yet with a 12V sealed lead acid battery, but I suspect up time to be longer. Overall, the package is a bit more cluttered than using a laptop, but the performance and flexibility are greater, IMO. Minor criticisms: 1) the included cables are all longer, thicker, and more rigid than seems necessary, but that might be an advantage for some, and 2) built-in speaker volume and quality are a bit wimpy, but they are included and still consistent with how the monitor will be used. The Viewsonic VG1655 is one of the few products I've purchased that so well exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.

My first ground loop from computer audio card to powered monitor speakers was corrected by plugging the monitors in to the same outlet as the computer. Then I upgraded my video card to a much more powerful one and the buzz came back when the video card was churning. Back to the internet to find a solution and this product seemed to be my best bet. It worked like a charm, the buzz is gone again and I don't hear any degradation in sound quality. Highly recommend.

Very pleased with the image and quality of this monitor. I am using it with a Sony a6500 for 1080p HD, but works just as well with 4K. The silicone case fits well and provides good protection. Since B&H doesn't currently provide much of a description for this product, here are a few more details: It includes a 12V 2000mA AC adapter (identical to the ikan AC-12V-2A-US, B&H# IKAC12V2AUS). Includes two battery plates: F-970 and LP-E6. Included HDMI cable has a mini connector for the camera. You might need a micro (true for my a6500). Audio quality with headphones is good. As some have noted there is a slight lag between live sound and monitor output. I get the same effect with my camera connected to a TV, so can't blame the monitor. The vertical resolution is 1200 pixels. With the default menu settings the aspect ratio is set to "full" and it stretches 16:9 output vertically to fit. Change the aspect setting in the function menu to 16:9.

I use this not only to power my Small HD monitor, but using a barrel adapter use it to power my Hyperdeck Shuttle or other 12v accessories.

Love the computer so far but never got the monitor.

it should be 12v dc for power.

Great when you need a long, flexible replacement cord. I used mine for a powered monitor.

Use it with a small onboard monitor, powered off an onboard camera batt.
