2004 Gateway 500 Desktop Computer Use Sata Drive

I needed to install a SATA drive in a desktop computer, but had not spare SATA power feeds, only molex. This did the job!

If you are installing an internal Solid State Drive to your desktop computer, you'll need this SATA wire unless you are able to scavenge one off another attached device that you no longer use. It attaches to the back of the SSD (or other SATA device) and to the mother board.

Added storage drive to my desktop computer.

I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it!

I recently wanted to install a SSD in to the regular SATA HDD drive in my desktop using a SSD to HDD socket adapter. When researching for the compatible SATA 3 SSDs in the market, I found the PNY CS900. Installation was easy and it fits most adapters (I tried in on 3). But the best feature is the price! Definite buy!

When adding SATA desktop hard drives it is silly that SATA cables are so hard to find. The hard drive maunfacturers should include them, or as an option, when purchasing a drive. B&H comes through adain.

I am using MX500's in my desktop as my boot drive and my Atomos Ninja V. Fair price, and they work well. It's a SATA interface, so that's your limiting factor, and these saturate it, so not much more to ask for.

I am happy I purchased this SSD Drive. It replaces a 3TB Sata Drive. I use it for data storage in as much as I have thousands of photos on this drive. I have been pleased with the speed, read and write . Backup is much better compared to the SATA drive. The SATA drive could take almost 24 hrs for backup while the SSD drive may take 3-4 hrs. . I have not had over heating. I use a mid tower ATX case and the fans are enough to keep it cool. I am very satisfied.

this was installed on the family computer and while the previous drive was a typical "sata ssd" i never noticed how slow it was. after learning about different storage types, i now realize why nvme is so much faster. and it is noticeable! the load times for the initial startup is almost instant now. i don't even see the windows loading screen. pictures are clicked and opened almost immediately. i didn't know that a storage device could make such a difference, but my family has informed me that my pc is more than capable and switching to this drive was the breath of life it needed to be brought back into the 21st century. overall super happy with the drive.
