I bought this for my wife who used a MacBook Pro for years; 2011 17’ which still works, but is too big sometimes. Since I purchased this iPad, she literally hasn’t touched the MacBook Pro…at all! Doing what it says it does. Easy setup. It's working great with my 2011 MacBook Pro. Great with Final Cut Pro and after effects. I can't attest to reliability yet because I've only had it a month. No signs of problems though. I definitely suggest loading soft raid on your computer because the transfer speeds increase considerably when you do. Great product.
