I first tried using this screen with my old MacBook Pro 2012 with a USB C to USB 3 cable. It didn’t work-simple video stuttered and the screen stayed dark so I put it in the closet for a few months. Then I got a MacBook Pro 2018 with USB C/Thunderbolt 3 I went on the road and decided to grab this monitor and try it again for editing (premiere pro). It works beautifully. Stunning even. Won’t travel for work without it again! 5 |

I have been using Macs since 1990 and they just keep getting better. This one replaces a 2012 MacBook Pro that never wanted to quit. I was at a point where I could not update the OS anymore so decided to replace. I could not pass up a sale B&H was having and with their credit card option, I saved the tax, too. This new model is everything and more of what I was expecting. It's super fast with a great screen and very light. My laptops are my digital darkrooms and this one is easy to carry and travel with. There are plenty of ports, I just needed to buy a few new cables for my existing peripherals. This model has an SD card slot, also. This version allows use of two external monitors if needed, I tend to keep it light so have not connected a monitor yet and probably won't. The battery keeps its charge pretty much all day which is something I am not used to. I stepped back from Adobe a few years ago and have embraced Affinity, their suite screams on this Mac. If you are on the fence, get off and buy this guy. The only real decision you should be making is either 14 or 16 and your preferred configuration. 5 |
