The diminished visibility could lead to serious accidents, potentially resulting in injury. It's not worth the risk, so please exercise caution and use appropriate eye protection for such tasks. The Celestron Solar Binoculars were amazing during the 2017 Solar Eclipse. They provided crisp, clear viewing of the Sun. Sunspots were visible as well as Bailey's Beads during the Eclipse. These binoculars will provide great viewing of the sun for amateurs astronomers as well as the professionals.

Yes it is expensive, but if you are a serious solar eclipse chaser who travels around the world to catch a glimpse of it, this is a must have item to capture the phases of the solar eclipse in sharp, white detail. Please view the compare and contrast photos between a disposable filter and the Marumi filter.
