24 Hour Surveillance Camera Sign

This mic is used in a 24 hour live broadcast and works well.

I had a brand-new camera and a 24-70 lens to pack up for a 6-hour flight. I picked up two of these wraps at B+H the day before travel; used for extra padding inside the camera bag, they got the job done, and I was able to transport everything safely, without damage. In fact, the Ruggards may have saved my equipment when I turned my back for a second, then realized another passenger was boisterously trying to shove a too-big bag right on top of my carry-on in the overhead bin. Inexpensive and worth it.

I have this drive running in my surveillance DVR now for about 15 months and it really is the quality I would expect from Western Digital. Today I exchanged this drive for a 3TB purple drive (WD of course), just to maximize the capacity of my DVR. I have never really noticed it but this drive creates a lot of heat when used 24/7 . I know this drive was never meant to be in a DVR but considering the quality of the WD drives, I tried it for about 15 months. That in fact the drive went through this long time running 24/7, confirms my trust in WD drives once more. Out of 35 drives I bought over the years I had only two that failed (fortunately within warranty). Even my oldest drive from 2002 is still up and running. I never was that lucky with drives from other manufacturers.

I'm using it for concerts, where it improves footage that previously looked more like a surveillance camera!

I burn ONE from the computer (source), then Duplicate that disc as the source and get about 24 DVD's per hour, (30 min. episode on disc) I love how I can hook it up to the computer & use it stand alone... very easy. But... I think it's a bit Big & Heavy, so make room for it.

I have always wanted a more professional microphone, and thanks to the recent 24 hour flash deal on this microphone at B&H, it finally fit into my budget. As I hoped, it has a beautiful sound that is full but not muddy, live but not overly bright. The Sennheiser has a smoothness and subtlety that puts it in a class above my other mics. I plan to use it for boom work but also for voiceover. When I read about other mics, it's often the standard they are compared to, as in a great mic that is almost as good as the 416 but costs less. Well, with the recent sale I got the real thing for no more money than the close competitors. This is exactly the kind of thing that has me always quick to check the B&H flash deal email when it comes in just after midnight on weeknights.

This lens is great enough to handle everything. Great for both video and photo work. And when I got it it was on 24 hour deal last time so it was 900$ so that price was no brainer for this lens which you can get Image Stabilization weather sheld and most amazing image quality (Tact sharp)*

So all I can say is I got these as part of a 24-hour sale, and I'm delighted to have them! I get over 2,000 lux at one meter with the two of them, they're easy to place thanks to the screws in the bottom and the fold-out brackets, and while they only last a half-hour each on battery power I extend that with 10,000 or 20,000 mAH battery packs or AC. It's enough light to do a basic stand-up or fill in light where I need it....
