2.5 Inch 500Gb Solid State Drive

Super fast with solid state drive. Love the 13 inch verse my old mac 15 inch. I got the i5 processor and it's working great, not slow, and I do video productions (thought I don't edit full time on this computer) Enjoy!

Solid state drive worth it.

I used this drive to clone a laptop hard drive to a solid state drive. Worked well.

I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it!

This is an extremely reliable and easy to use Solid State Drive. Once initialized it's easy to clone form a Hard Disk Drive to this unit. Take out the old drive, insert this drive, and put your seat belt on.

This hard drive docking station is terific in a lab environment or anywhere you need to format or image a large volume of drives. It supports both 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch drives over USB 3.0 so speed is not an issue. When connecting the smaller 2.5 inch drives a plastic shield pops up to protect the internals from dust, etc. If I had to change one thing about this docking station it would be to have a similar protection shield when no drives are in use but this is only a minor annoyance. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

What's more, there is Asustor College online that can answer 40 or so questions, check it out before you buy. My suggestion is buy SSD drives, the unit will be completely silent and generate much less heat. Also, if using Acronis be aware you will need a v3.x USB drive to copy the backup files so the boot CD has something to write to the pc's C: drive. Lastly, when mounting 2.5 inch drives, be aware there are some plastic mounting strips intended for 3.5 inch hard drives you'll need to remove in order to mount the 2.5's. Press the end of the plastic pin which holds them in. I was done with the whole migration, doubling my storage, in about three hours.

The product is cheap and simple to use and it does work. If you are transfering data to a 2.5 inch drive that is not installed in to a system, or in my case, installing an os on to an ssd to install in to a different system, then this works wonderfully.
