Using this for bass amp. Have an Ampeg SVT Pro pre-amp running into it. Using it bridged. 5 |

Used once for powering guitar amp, powered monitor, pedal board, and bass amp on stage. Performed well and kept the hums at bay. Long cord legnth and good plug access. 5 |

I was looking for a micro amp to mix our stage monitor signal with my mic or guitar/bass -- so I could add a bit more of me in my headphones. This works great. Has both sizes of headphone jacks, a choice of mono or stereo, separate monitor and mic/instrument volume controls, and XLR in and thru for live mixing. Also has a ground lift, which can be a difference-maker when you have house line noise. I use it mostly for adding my bass to the monitor mix. Small enough to fit on my pedal board, so it just comes along with me all the time now. The only caveat: The XLR inputs are low-Z, so you'll need a DI box to connect instruments. However, that is easy to work around considering all the other benefits. 5 |

I tested the Rotel Tribute combo(amp&CD) vs Audiolab 6000 (amp&CD) combo. No doubt the Audiolab wins in terms of sound, I don't know all the fancy words to use in this comparison but in my simple language explanation its like this. The Audiolab sound is thicker fuller darker and most of all it has a 3D like feeling to the sound, by the Rotel it seams like the sound is flat on the wall in front of me, by the Audiolab the sound is away from the wall there is air between the instrument and the wall, so its more real experience. The bass is interesting because by the Rotel I can hear a bigger bass, but its nice in the beginning, later I felt its blocking some sound of the other instruments, in other words, its not as balanced the bass with the other sounds. By Audiolab the bass is not sticking out from the rest and I think its more tighter. so its either because the bass is not so boomy or because all the other sounds are punching out same strong as the bass. Anyway, its more pleasing to listen to because of that. from the other hand the Rotel has also a very special sound very detailed, another benefit it has tone controls(and a general sound booster), you can adjust the bass and the treble which makes it very convenient and takes away the problem mentioned above because u can boost the treble and or lower the bass. Still it doesn't give the 3D sound as the Audiolab. one more pro to the Audiolab CDT, you can make fast fwd the song by pressing long the go to next song button, you can NOT do it by the Rotel CD player, only with the Remote controller(very embarrassing). From the other hand a con to the Audiolab CDT, when you press the pause button, if you leave it more than a few minutes it goes back to beginning of the CD (I didn't find any setting to change that - very embarrassing). 5 |

I needed this cord for my headphone practice amp so I can play bass without waking up the entire neighborhood and it worked perfectly. Great job guys. 5 |

This is just the budget mic I was looking for to pair with a sm57 when mic'ing my guitar amp. The bass response really fattens up the recorded tone when paired with the mid forward sm57. Add an AT2020 for as a room mic for top end and ambience and you can record some pretty solid guitar tracks. 5 |

I bought this to replace other non-digital compression and eq pedals. I was not interested in calling up many patches. I try to get a McCartney sound and along with nylon flats on a Hofner this allows me to dial it in. I use the Bassman preamp, para-eq's, graphic eq, dbx 160 and MXR stle compressors. I created 3 different patches, tic tac bass, plinky but full bass and deeper bass. I play with two acoustic guitarists in smaller rooms so I use a small Gallien Krueger amp or a Markbass 12 inch combo. My only complaint is that none of the compression settings have any visuals showing gain reduction so it's all up to my ears. Sound quality is great. I haven't spent much time trying out the other patches but their Markbass patch impressed me on how close it was to a Markbass amp. 5 |

Has been on my want list for a while so the sale on the package of amp and phones was too irresistible. I don't even have 50hrs on this setup and it sounds great. I have some nice cans and a Woo tube amp for reference and a Marantz SA11S2 disc spinner. Have never like solid state head amps till now. The 800S cans have some of the Senn house sound and not that different from the 600S but to use an oft used cliche, there is more there, there. Garbage in garbage out but with SACD's I have been listening to, the 800S sounds spectacular. Maybe a tad recessed in the mids but that could be remedied with some eq. All the bass is there but this is not a bass head can to be sure. I am running these balanced all the way. I do not like their 1/8 balanced plug cable that the 800S comes with. It also has 1/4 single ended cable. Never heard of an 1/8 balanced jack but the HDV820 has one. The 800S is a light and comfortable can with a sweet but full non fatiguing sound. And another cliche, I am hearing things I never heard before in recordings I know intimately. Highly recommended. 5 |

The main feature is that you CAN hear outside voices and noises - which is why you WOULD buy this headphone. Excellent sound. Highs very crisp. Mid range is is clear as any others. Bass needs an amp. These high impedance headphones need an amp to really get the bass to PUNCH. Any one who tells you otherwise is blowing smoke up your (you know what). This applies to ALL high impedance headphones out there that DO NOT not have an amp. All fellow EEs out there please chime in on this! There are a plethora of amps out there but if you are a project person try this one. Bass Bump headphone amp - YouTube. You get what to need at a low price - but need to know how to use a soldering iron and a few other tools. 5 |
