I wanted to get a faster Flash drive than the USB 2.0 units I have, so I bought the Kingston unit because I have always had good solid reliability with my other Kingston products. This unit lives up to the quality and reasonable price I am used to having with Kingston products. 5 |

The Kingston 2TB XS1000 USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 External SSD has worked as advertised for about thirty days or so. I purchased for use as a backup solution in the field. The setup includes an iPhone 15 Pro (iOS 17.2), an OWC USB Type-C Travel Dock supplied by 30W Power Delivery and using its integrated USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C Cable connected to the iPhone, and Angelbird 256GB AV Pro UHS-II SDXC Memory Card, a Delkin Devices USB 3.2 CFexpress Memory Card Reader with a SanDisk 512GB Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Type B, and of course, the subject of this review, the Kingston 2TB XS1000 USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 External SSD. The setup works flawlessly with some observations. Transfer speeds through the described USB hub are about 400 MB/s, whereas, with the SSD plugged in directly to the iPhone, transfer speeds are about double at 800 MB/s. When the SSD is plugged directly into an Apple silicon Mac, speeds are slightly better at about 900 MB/s. The latter is closer to the manufacturer's specified speeds of 1000 MB/s. The bottom line is that the Kingston 2TB XS1000 USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 is a small but mighty SSD that sits somewhere between USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen 2 speeds. It is a great solution for use in the field. Note: I used the standard iOS Files App to copy Canon RAW Lite and XF-AVC video files from SD and CFExpress cards. I had no issues copying and moving files around while in the field. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! I can’t believe I am excited about a hard drive! the Kingston XS2000 2TB High-Performance Portable SSD is amazing. The Kingston XS2000 2TB High-Performance Portable SSD comes with a rubber sleeve that keeps the drive durable, water-resistant, and dust resistant. I saved a lot of files on this drive instead of my PC (for security). Very fast transfers of even large groups of large photo files. I use it several times a week, mostly writing to it, and sometimes reading from it. Never any problems, no corrupt sectors, etc. My PC always recognizes it (my older drives were hit and miss for recognition). Loads of space, and it seems sturdy and it never makes a sound and barely warms up even with extended use. USB-C is great too. The drive is small enough to be carried around easily and fits in my pant pockets ( portability in a pocket ). It has freed up over 100GB of space on my laptop and now my laptop is experiencing less lag. A great tool to help increase the capacity of your any laptop new or old. 5 |

I had filled up my 1TB linux laptop drive. I used this with a new Kingston 2TB drive as an intermediary to clone my drive and double my space. Now the original drive is in here and I now have a super compact usb disk! Pretty simple to do and this enclosure is great! thanks! 5 |
