The story is simple. This is a great buy for a well deserving customer especially as the Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter is a necessity for the longevity of the modernized headphone user anyway, right?

Wanted a 3.5mm mini jack to lightning converter. Was directed to its location and there it was. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. B and H is my one and only first stop for anything electronic or photographic that I may need.

I bought this subwoofer to extend the low frequency range of a table-top sound box used with my Sony TV KDL-46HX850. I used the TV audio output (headphone 3.5 mm jack) to get the audio signal to the subwoofer using a cable with 3.5 mm plug on one end and two RCA (M) on the other end; then a Y adapter cable 2 RCA (F) to a single RCA (M) to the subwoofer. The setup works fine. Just required some adjusting of the crossover and S/W volume settings. Using the audio out jack set to "headphone" in TV settings, I discovered that I can control the S/W volume with the TV remote for fine tuning. The capture of lower range sound is great, and I love the small size of this sub in the limited space I have in the bedroom.

I was looking to send audio from the 3.5mm headphone jack on my Mac to the 3.5mm mic jack on my cell phone, because I had a professionally recorded voicemail message I wanted to use but my service provider only allowed live recorded messages. (I wasnt just going to hold my phone up to the speaker on my Mac, because it would ruin the quality.) I had a male-to-male 3.5mm cable I tried to use, with no luck. I was confused as to why it didnt work. I couldnt figure out how to do it and went to a few nearby stores looking for advice, but every sales person just looked at me with a confused look and had no idea how to help. Luckily I noticed B&H was around the corner from a job interview I had. Ive always wanted to go there, just never got around to it until that day, and boy am I glad I did. I spoke to a gentleman in the Pro Audio Dept and after about 10-15 minutes of carefully listening to my needs, and taking the time to understand what I wanted/needed he informed me I needed an attenuating cable because the voltage coming out of the headphone jack would have destroyed the mic jack on my phone. I was finally on my way, but then just as I was about the thank him for his help he exclaimed WAIT!! and informed me that the two jacks were configured differently, (the headphone jack was TRS, and the mic was TRRS) and I would have no luck with just the attenuating cable so he pulled up this item on his screen explained it would convert the connector to what I needed and sent the whole order to pick up. I purchased and picked up the two cables and excitedly went home to test out the items. They worked!!! tl;dr This item was exactly what I needed, and it did its job perfectly.

I'm using this adapter to get an RCA stereo auxiliary input to plug into my car stereo, which has a 3.5 mm stereo jack. This works exactly as it should. The RCA female plugs fit nice and tight, so I don't have to worry about the connection loosening over time. Great value for the price.

So yes. First off this thing cleans up your audio from external mics very well. I've tried this on my motorcycle with the gain set to -10db and it turned out very clear (I am still editing that video). It fits nice and tight onto the side of your Action 3/4. Something to note....you WILL need to remove your usb-c access door to use this. Lucky for you, it removes easily by design and yessss it fits Into your camera while your camera is still in a cage. Another thing is you CAN use the usb-c port to charge your camera while still using the 3.5mm jack to plug a mic into while recording. - The 3.5mm jack is a TRS port so your mic has to have 2 lines on the 3.5mm end (not 3) in order to work with this adapter. - You cannot use the usb-c port of this mic adapter with a usb-c microphone as that mic will not work. If you have a usb-c microphone, plug it directly into the camera to use it. - the usb-c port of this adapter can be used to transfer files from the camera to your phone/laptop/tablet or PC or charge the camera ONLY.

I use this adapter to connect a mono Sennheiser shotgun mic (w/3.5 mm jack) to my new video camera with XLR audio inputs. It fits snugly on both ends and has been noise free in use.

Upgraded my iPhone, needed a 3.5mm/USB-C adapter to replace the lightning ones I had. Works perfectly!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Full disclosure: I was sent this product to review it. Honestly, it works great for its intended purpose. I was able to charge my phone and connect Lightning headphones at the same time. I didn't notice any difference in sound quality between plugging the headphones into this product or plugging them straight into my iPhone. They also work perfectly with the 3.5 mm to Lightning adapter provided by Apple with my phone. The RockStar feels sturdy and uses Apple's signature look well. If it weren't for the Belkin logo on the Lightning plug, this could easily have been mistaken for something made by Apple. It also couldn't be simpler to use. Plug it into the iPhone and plug your headphones and power cord into either available port. There are only two things I could think of to make this product better. First would have been to have one port be a 3.5 mm jack. I only have the one pair of lightning headphones Apple provided and the adapter. I have a pile of old headphones though. My second thought would have been, if you have two Lightning ports on the adapter, let it be used to plug in two sets of headphones to act as a splitter. This may be a limitation set by Apple and not the product itself, but it would add a level of use to the RockStar. If you use Lightning headphones or 3.5 mm headphones with a Lightning adapter, this is a great product to be able to listen to music while you charge your phone. Personally, I use Bluetooth about 99.9% of the time, but I'm glad I have this product for those times I can't.

Every once in a while you are still going to need a headphone jack adapter for music or a mic.
