We use these cables to setup a monitor & wireless keyboard on the users desk with their laptop docked on the credenza behind the desk. Good setup.

Very large, more for an executive style desk that is more than 3ft deep

Executive summary: This is an item that either works or it doesn't, and this works really well. I own a Sony 400-disc Blu-Ray carousel. An Ethernet connection is on the back panel; when a new disc is inserted the unit contacts a Gracenote Database to retrieve the disc title for its on-screen menu. Due to the layout of my home, the only ways to get wired Ethernet from my network switch to the Sony is by dragging a 100-foot cable across the living room. With this device, that's no longer necessary. This would also be good for vintage-computer users to put their pre-WiFi laptops on wireless networks. This isn't something everybody needs, but for the people who do it's a good solution to a lot of problems.

I wanted this stool so I could get rid of the big executive chair I sit at my desk in. In a video shot, or still image, the chair itself takes up too much space. The stool telescopes to the desired height effortlessly.

Right after I purchased my 70-200 F 2.8L IS AF lens I found that there are occasions when I want to reach out a little further. Doing the research I was initially led to the 1.4X Extender based on greater clarity and pretty much dismissed the 2X as a possibility. I have been looking at adding the 100-400 L series zoom for my Canon but in the mean time purchased the 5D Mark II. I had the opportunity to try out the 2X with the Mark II this past weekend on the Mississippi river. I was pleasantly surprised to see the images at full zoom were very crisp. I could not see any appreciable slowing on AF photographing Eagle subjects at quite a distance. Even having to blow the subject up yielded remarkable detail. Some have remarked the 2X is a poor mans 100-400L on the 70-200L but given the results I have experienced it is a very inexpensive way to get to prime glass 400 zoom at a fraction of the cost. I have yet to try it on sporting events but from what I have seen I am very hopeful it will perform well.

Right now OM systems does not seem to a pancake in their Pro Series (double check me on this.) But this “non-pro” lens is really great and seems very well-built just the same. I’m glad I bought it!

I've been using a Gitzo Series 2 Mountaineer with a Really Right Stuff BH-40 head. With the Nikon 80-400 mounted on a D-7200 the head would occasionally slip. This became a real problem recently while using an RRS gimbal with the above combination. The head slipped in such a way that I couldn't loosen the clamp for the ball and so the whole contraption was stuck. Time for a beefier system all around. The difference with the Series 3 Gitzo and the RRS BH-55 head is remarkable. It's far sturdier than I expected and the added weight from the Series 2 is negligible. I considered the RRS Series 3 tripod but the price difference was considerable especially with the Gitzo MIR.
