When I got a new router that supports Wi-Fi 6 I discovered both that the 5Ghz wi-fi band is capable of much higher bandwidth than 2.4Ghz and that my computer only supported the 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi frequency. So this adapter not only gives my computer the ability to connect via 5Ghz it also supports Wi-Fi 6 so my Wi-Fi connection is now much faster. Zoom sessions are now stable and free of glitches.

I upgraded from the GT-AXE-11000 to get the extra 5 GHz band and the new Broadcom processor. This router is capable enough to allow you actually utilize the bandwidth a gigabit Internet connection not just over wired ethernet connections but especially over wireless. There are plenty of features to tune and the router plays well with 6E mesh routers like the ASUS ET8.

The combo router and modem works great with the option of 2.4 or 5 ghz internet. Great purchase

Bought this to replace a Google Nest mesh system, which had been starting to annoy me. This thing is light years better, and worth every penny. The performance is stellar....I've got a 1.4 gbps connection through Xfinity and I'm getting around 1.3 gbps on the 6 Ghz band, and around 700-800 mbps on the 5 ghz band when in the same room as router or satellite (and that's with wireless backhaul but I plan to switch to wired backhaul once I get a hole cut to run wires). The range is outstanding...5 ghz speeds still hold up around 500 mbps through multiple walls. Speeds still hold up well even when signal strength is around -70 dbm. By comparison, the best speeds I would get on the Nest were 500-600 mbps when in same room as router, and speeds would drop to 100-200 through walls/distance. Plus I needed 3 points in my house on Nest where I only need two for the ET12. The customization and options beat every other mesh out there. Nest gave me limited options which made things frustrating (like no ability to separate bands or filter by band). For example, sometimes my bedroom TV would connect to 2.4 ghz band when in same room as Nest, when I wanted 5. With the ET12, I was able to block the TV from the 2.4 band to force it to connect to the 5 band and still keep single SSID. There are tons of other options as well. 100% happy with this purchase, and delivery from B&H was very fast.

Excellent router: Initially had some minor hiccups on 2.4 ghz connections randomly dying, which got resolved via firmware updates. Synology will make this router even better with time i'm sure. Performance and Capabilities of this router are excellent. 5.9 Ghz is a bonus! Looking to buy even more of these to mesh with each other!

This router replaced a 5 or 6 years old Linksys router that no longer had firmware updates. This is what I like about this router: 1. I love the fact that it can have one WiFi signal that seamlessly switches between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, whichever gives the strongest signal, with no intervention by the user on any devices. 2. I love the fact that firmware updates can be automatic. 3. I love the fact that it has built-in Safe Access that blocks malicious websites and then can send you an email telling you about it. 4. I love the fact that it has a 17 dbm stronger signal strength to stationary devices that were previously marginal with my old Linksys router. This is an EXCELLENT router that I highly recommend.

I bought this router to replace my Airport Extreme which was getting dated (still works fine btw). Setup was a snap and was up and running in 5 minutes. The Smart Connect feature eliminates the need to have both a 2.4 and 5 GHz network if you have old devices that only connect to 2.4 GHz networks (i.e. thermostats, sprinkler systems, automation devices, cameras, etc.). I also considered purchasing Netgear's Nighthawk router but many reviewers that many were DOA or stop working within a few months. I didn't expect this product to exceed my expectations however it did just that. Pros: -web interface is very fast and very similar UI to Synology NAS products -Port forwarding is extremely easy on this device -Although I don't use the parental controls, this product does a really good job of protecting your kids online -Synology VPN keeps you safe if you use public wifi networks (easy to get started as well) -I did see faster internet speeds than my AE -coverage is also very good even in my backyard (1/2 acre property) Cons -not the best looking router but the features makes up for it -I still can't figure out how to setup Time Machine backups on this using an external hard drive (keychain errors) -support did take a few days to respond to the Time Machine issue but responded nonetheless Overall If you are an extreme Apple product user and heavily tied to their ecosystem, this is the router for you. It is fast, consistent and as reliable as an Apple AE.

This is the simple but versatile device that I recommend as a router for all my friends and family, and will also use as an access point for them or small businesses where integrated solutions are too complex for a handful of users. Qualcomm Atheros chipset, with 350 Mbps WAN To LAN capability routing. Firmware has stabilized and now I am able to fully recommend (January 2021), albeit feature set is still lacking compared to AirRouter predecessor, but offers core abilities for baseline users. For the airCube, plug the ethernet from the modem into the WAN (eth0), then you may connect your computer via wireless or ethernet to the LAN ports (PoE In, 2, or 3), typing in https://192.168.1.1 in your web browser, with ubnt as username, and password printed on the label beneath. Most people are now aware and desiring to minimize wireless radiation, so I recommend them to turn off the 5 Ghz wireless, and configure the 2.4 Ghz for 20 MHz Channel Width, select channel 1, 6, or 11, while starting with 5 dBm output power (transmit power is logarithmic, so 5 dBm is 3mW, wile 20 dBm is 100 mW), and choose the SSID Name and Password. Look for a signal strength of -80 dBm or better (-55 to -60 dBm ideal) is recommended for stable links, and increase the output power until that range is achieved for desired places. Obviously, line of sight and height is appreciated for more effective communication. Increasing the Tx power on any wireless device will create a noise for other wireless devices. The rest you could choose to remain as default or configure more.

The freeware plus wireless remote shutter release 2.4 GHz (for Nikon) I'm mainly using it with my Nikon D7000 DLSR, and used it with my other nikon cameras (D200&D300) I use it to help stop any movement while shooting the camera while mounted in the tripod. It does a better job than the wire remote shutter.
