450M Wireless N Router Monitor Traffic

I have been looking to replace my wireless gateway from Comcast for a while now. Recently some new products such as the Google Home caught my attention since they had multiple access points that are placed around your house. This setup has been used in enterprise for years. The only downfall which made me stay away was the lack of customization and advanced features. Using the Synology Router has been like no other. The user interface is the best I have every used, there are so many features and add-ons, I have yet to use them all. Some key points of the router is the 802.11ac antennas, they also operate at a newer channel so currently I am the only one in my apartment complex to be on this channel. The add-ons that are built into the router are pretty useful, my favorite is intrustion prevention since it will monitor network traffic and alert and or block traffic is reconginizes as being harmful. Overal I love this router, many of the issues I had with the range and connectivity on my old gateway have been resolved with this new router. I will continue to purchase their routers in the future. #sweepstakes

This wifi router is extremely easy to set up, and has a ton of features to protect your computers from hackers. You do not need any special IT knowledge to set this router up all it takes is a phone with the Ubiquiti app installed and the app walks you through the process. Because it is Ubiquiti it also has a ton of features that allow you to scan your traffic to prevent malware and hacking. I replaced a seven year old Airport with this unit in a roughly 750 sq ft apartment that has thick plaster walls and I have great service in every room. Another feature that makes this product great for apartment dwellers is the unit tweaks its wifi bands in response to the other wifi signals around you. This means that it will identify what wifi channels have a lot of traffic on them already, and broadcast on others so that you get the best bandwidth possible.

Bought this one to use as a router/switch in my home network replacing a Netgear Nighthawk model. It's night and day in terms of resources and capabilities, from setting up VLANs and security measures as well as monitoring traffic in my home network and identifying which device is connecting to what and amount of traffic. Tech support is also great and I got a reply the same day I wrote to them with some questions. I'll very likely use Ubiquiti's Protect and cameras when installing this system around my house.

After a recent renovation, I ran cat-5e to every room in the house, in hope of having less traffic through the wireless and a more secure environment. It just made sense at that point to upgrade to GigE, and this product was perfect for the project, given the extra number of connections.

No thrown baseballs to monitor, this time of year. However, my 11-year old grandson did a great evaluation for me. I watched him get reliable and accurate readings on birds flying overhead, a low-flying plane landing at our nearby airport, traffic on a busy blvd. (500 ft. away)and traffic in front of the house. He enjoyed seeing drivers slow down quickly to our 25 mph speed limit! I even got steady and repeatable readings on a ceiling fan (11mph on low and 15mph on med.) Your imagination is your only limit with this gun.

I bought this router and paired it to my 2 ubiquiti wireless ap's. Router works great! Highly recommend. Read all the great reviews about it. They aren't lying.
