500 Gb External Hard Drives

I have 500 and 320 external hard drives and needed something to hold more data so I could get it organized. This HD is 3.0 USB and I wouldn't buy a 2.0 again. It made transferring data super quick. And the other thing I really liked is it is smaller than any other External HD I have and twice the storage.

I purchased this external portable HDD to augment my internal 500 GB 7200 RPM HDD on my Apple Macbook Pro 17 laptop. Simply plugged it in via the USB port, which powers the unit as well. Every computer should come with these solid state drives these days. I already had a 500 GB installed, now I added this drive just for my photography files. Dramatic increase in speed accessing files. Worth every penny as the price of these drives continues to drop. Every computer I use will have one of these from now on, except my laptop (for now).

I needed a replacement drive for my Drobo. The existing 500 Gb drive was old and was giving signs of failing. Most of my NAS drives have been Western Digital, so I went for this one. The price was good for a 7,200 RPM CRM drive. Seems to be working well. Time will tell, but I have had good luck with WD drives so far. I would definitely buy from B&H, because some of the other vendor's do sell drives that have been sitting on the shelf for some time. This drive date of manufacture was 06/14/2021.

I was interested for my Macbook Pro 2019, which only had 500 GB hard disk, to run my Photos app through a faster outside disk. I attached on the side of the body of my computer and it runs smoothly and fast.
