This hard drive docking station is terific in a lab environment or anywhere you need to format or image a large volume of drives. It supports both 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch drives over USB 3.0 so speed is not an issue. When connecting the smaller 2.5 inch drives a plastic shield pops up to protect the internals from dust, etc. If I had to change one thing about this docking station it would be to have a similar protection shield when no drives are in use but this is only a minor annoyance. Super fast with solid state drive. Love the 13 inch verse my old mac 15 inch. I got the i5 processor and it's working great, not slow, and I do video productions (thought I don't edit full time on this computer) Enjoy! 5 |

Bought this as an upgrade to another portable hard drive I have for when I'm shooting on the road. It's super fast and I don't have to worry about a spinning disk since it's solid state. Also, being solid state it seems to draw less power from my laptop. The biggest plus is the extra speed though. Great little hard drive 5 |

The solid state hard drive fit in it perfect. I did have to alter the mounting pin areas in the sides though, so the unit would fit in the case. I used a Dremel tool to grind out the four areas, where the pins engage, so the whole unit could slide into the case. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just used this to replace an old hard drive on my old laptop and because it's solid state I was able to breathe new life into a ten year old piece of hardware! Definitely get one if you don't want to upgrade to a new model of laptop just yet! Obviously it's a little small if you wanna use it on a desktop, but it's fine on a laptop 5 |
