5.1 Speaker Receiver

The speaker has a nice bass sound. It pairs well with the Sony 5.1 receiver with the RCA cord (included) . It has a power save switch on the back. You can leave it on all the time, or you can have it "click" off when there is no signal. Sometimes when the volume is low it clicks on and off during a single song depending on the strength of the bass signal. This can be fixed by just leaving it on all the time. I have a multi-plug surge protector to turn everything off when not in use.

Compliments the playbar,Not as good as having a receiver and a 5.1 set up but good enough.

After replacing my 30-year-old Sony Prologic 5.1 Receiver with a new Sony STR DN590 5.2, I felt that my 30-year-old Yamahas needed an upgrade, also. I went online for reviews of several candidates, and the SS-CS5 stood out among the others. I have not been disappointed! Its bass melds with my PSW10, like the proverbial "seamless garment", superior to its predecessors, to produce concert level bass with Eric Clapton's 1988 version of "After Midnight", and the treble and midrange handles both contemporary and vintage female vocals, as from Bond themes. All-in-all, a great speaker!

Purchased 3 weeks ago to upgrade from a 2011 receiver, I found this Sony unit is a great value purchase for a "simple" 5.1 setup. It offers plenty of power for smaller home theatre rooms, has enough surround sound options to pick from, supports ARC and 4K HDMI passthru, and the user interface with easy tuning/setup are all major selling points in my book. I you want an honest value in a 5.1/5.2 receiver... I think this unit is a bargin!

I bought this after my older 5.1 receiver stopped working. The main reason we use this is for music and the sound quality is top notch! I was pleasantly surprised when the unit automatically detected my older SACDs and I was able to listen to them in surround sound through the HDMI connection! DVD Audio also sounds excellent. My only con is the Startup Guide does not mention "Setting your speaker pattern" which is found in the Operating Instructions.

Fantastic. I replaced an old, 2005 Onkyo 5.1 A/V receiver that did not have any HDMI ports nor an HDMI/ARC compatible port and had lost the volume to one speaker output. I had just purchased the new 75" Sony Bravia TV and wanted to take advantage of the compatibility and all that this system has to offer. The configuration menu displayed on my TV was pretty cool also and made it much easier to configure all my other equipment I have hooked up to the receiver. A great product at a great price. With both HDMI and RCA input jacks, I am able to connect all of my equipment. The sound produced is nothing short of spectacular.

I bought the STR-DH590 to replace my old Sony 5.1 receiver that was almost 15 years old. This was ridiculously easy to setup, has excellent audio features & I love the 4K video passthru. It allowed me to connect a single HDMI cable to my TV & have all my other devices plugged into the STR-DH590. Excellent value & I would highly recommend!

I have an old technics receiver and when 5.1 is turned on it doesnt get warm, it gets really hot, however, since the very first day i started using the T10 the situation changed. I did several tests and i can say this thing works and very good. At higher speeds you can listen some noise coming from the fan, but if you are playing movies or music you are not going to listen it. Im using it in medium speed and the noise is pretty low. In my test i first started using the receiver at high volume with the 5.1 turned on (The T10 was Off). The temperature after one hour was pretty high, over 40°C (110°F), but after turning the Fan on, the T10 lowered in only 20 minutes the temperature to 30°C (86°F), keeping it always working for hours at the same temperature. (I used smart mode) If you spend hundreds of USD in your receiver, i suggest to invest 129 USD in this product for making your receiver works properly, under good temperature levels and finally extending the life of your receiver. Finally, for me this device worths every single dollar.

I have purchased 5 Amps some of the setup as all room audio, and some of them setup as part of 5.1 setup, all installed in media rack and hidden from the action. Sounds quality is the best I have ever heard, usability including airplay 2 makes it one of the easy to use system. Only down side is configuration, moving devices from room to room and changing role from main speaker to surround speaker (after adding a beam) is painful. After resetting amp, I am able to get this done eventually.

We use the sub in our post production studio's 5.1 setup. The speaker is clean and precise. Perfect compliment to the A8's. it was well worth the 6 month wait to get it.
