I bought the i9-10920X as a replacement for my i7-7820X because I was in need of more PCI express lanes. Overall, it feels more responsive and the extra 4 cores are nice to have. However, if I was building a brand new machine, I would probably wait for Intel's next gen to come out. 5 |

I was skeptical about the loss of PCI express lanes coming from X99, but I think consumer CPUs have finally caught up with multithreading performance of HEDT CPUs from the Broadwell-E generation. 5 |
