5D Camera Backpack

Excellent photography backpack. I already own a blue version of the older model the 16L and loved it. This newer version does not change much. The dimensions are practically the same. I initially looked around for a long time for a low profile photography backpack that would accommodate a full sized SLR (such as my 5D Mark IV). Many were adequate but just too bulky. This backpack is perfect as the height of about 6 inches just accommodates the profile of my my 5D Mark IV. The main camera compartment is able to fit a 5D Mark IV with a 24-70mm f/2.8 attached. It fits snug but the compartment is generously protected with padding on all sides so I am ok with that. I would not be able to fit much else inside the main camera compartment except for maybe a battery charger or something similar (1.5 x 4 in size). The two side pockets are about 6-7 deep and wide enough to fit a water bottle. The front tablet compartment is great and though I dont carry a tablet much it is perfect for flat things such as papers and magazines. The top compartment is very big and you can fit tons in there. For example I can fit my 70-200 f4, 24-70 f/2.8 and my 600EX-RT flash in there. Not to mention the zipper compartment which can also hold memory cards and spare batteries. The shoulder straps are very comfortable . I have used this on a day hiking trip, using the extra room for food and snacks, as well as week-long vacations as it holds a variety of equipment. I have luckily never had to use the weather proof cover but that is always a useful feature. I would highly recommend this backpack to all. It may be catered or advertised toward smaller SLRs or mirrorless cameras, but it can definitely hold a full sized camera. Keep in mind that it would NOT be able to fit a camera with a battery grip.

So far, so good. Plenty of space for what I use,( Canon 5d m3, m4, 28-70, 70-200, memory cards, charger, etc). I took some of the straps off in order to assure I would have room to place under plane seat. It does what it is supposed to do. I still have a smaller tamrac backpack that has lasted 6 years and still going, just too small for my needs. I am counting on this backpack to last just as well!

I backpack my equipment into the wilderness for my photos. This head is used in conjunction with my Canon 5D Mark II body and Canon 100-400mm lens. It is mounted on a Gitzo GT3453XLS platform with center column. The craftsmanship and design are excellent. Extremely smooth operation and solid locking. This is one of the most outstanding heads I have ever worked with. Highly recommended

Lightweight with substantial storage capacity. Fits a 5D with 28-300 L lens on body and a second 5D with 16-35 L lens with hood installed on body (turned sideways in bottom of backpack). With that, there is still room for a couple additional lenses, a flash and binoculars along with the usual memory cards, cleaning fluid and filters. I don't use the laptop pouch for a laptop; it makes a great place for a filter case, the included rain cover and a ThinkTank camera rain cover. The only feature that is less than optimal is the tripod pouch Would like a side mount tripod carrier. The pouch is valuable storage space. Another nice feature is the backpack depth which is allows for flash and lenses stored on end. The depth also makes the backpack stable when set on floor or ground. Would I purchase this again? Yes.

I wanted a small backpack to hold my GRIPPED 5D MK3 with 24-70 II one additional lens and Flash. I asked B&H to recommend a pack that will fill those requirements and they made 3 recommendations. I chose this one. The camera fits perfectly with additional lens etc, space for extra batteries, cards, even platypod max. Easy to slip on and off and is not loud (brand names etc.) . This is just for easy trips where I don't need multiple lens etc. I also like the fact that it has locking mechanism for carry on. I have read instances where people just reach for overhead cases and just walk off the plane.

I use the BlackRapid Backpack Breathe Camera Strap with a Lowepro ProTactic Backpack. One side of the strap connects perfectly to the rings located on the front of the backpack's shoulder straps and the other side connects onto a loop on the bottom of the pack on the other side. The BlackRapid backpack strap allows me to have quick access to my camera. With the camera on the BlackRapid strap, I no longer need to bring my backpack to my side to remove and use my camera. I now use my backpack only to store and change lenses. My camera can now remain outside my backpack, located conveniently to my side at hip level. When I want to shoot, the camera slides smoothly up the camera strap to eye level. I like that the camera hangs upside-down when resting on the strap. It makes for an easy get to position when my camera is resting at my side. This strap is amazingly slick and fun to use. I have to admit that I find myself playing around with it, like I'm some sort of gunslinger, showing off how quick I can be on the draw. I appreciate the movable clips provided on the BlackRapid camera strap. The two clips are easily adjusted, allowing me to restrict the movement of the camera to stay in one place on the strap when I am planning not to shoot. All of the attachment parts seem well made and designed. I keep the bottom strap strapped to the bottom of my backpack and store the rest of the strap in a small pocket on my backpack when I am not using the strap. Then, all I have to do is remove the strap from the small backpack pocket and connect the free end to the opposite shoulder strap . . . and I'm ready to go! I wish the piece that that screws into the camera (Camera Socket Attachment) was designed so that the camera could sit flat when attached, and if the design of the socket attachment would permit a tripod or mono-pod to be screwed into it without having to unscrew it from the camera. I absolutely love the BlackRapid Backpack Breathe Camera Strap!
