This USB 3.0 Type A Male to Micro Type B Cable - 15' by Pearstone is just what I needed. There were only a couple of other brands on the market with the length that was needed at triple the cost. At first, B & H indicated they not did have the item but a few minuets later I received a link directing me to the product - this was a direct result of the agent conducting research of a product long after the conversation had ended. It works great with the USB 3.0 cable provided with the D810.

This is a three foot USB 3.0 extension. I'm using it for my Elgato Stream Deck, which probably doesn't even need 3.0, but I didn't want to risk it. I have discovered that it performs as 3' USB 3.0 extension should. It works.

love that it includes USB A & C cables but the port on the reader is still micro 3.0, but for the price its fine and reads fast as expected.

They do sell a long version of this cord, but it's not what comes in box with the body. This is an affordable alternative to still make use of that cable for this matter. I decided to do this to avoid buying extra cables and plus, if I'm not using this for tethering, it can be used for other applications as I need.
