I was in to purchase a 15mm, 2.8 Laowa Venus Lens, a wide lens to landscape and taking all a museum piece from a small distance. I have researched the Laowa Venus 15mm 2.8 lens for my Sony a7iii. It seemed the right choice. The counter salesman (very helpful and awesome attendant) got out from his desk computer a lens that seemed my choice but was a 100 bucks more pricey. Well that seemed wrong, but ... which one was that (?) a Laowa 12 mm 2.8 ? Hey, wait, more aperture for a 100 bucks more. Well it's...a good idea, isn't it? So I took it with in. And ... I just enjoyed it (another positive point to you, counter guy). My Best pictures , ever, of: The Metropolitan Museum (The Met),The Brooklin Bridge, The Atlas Statue at the Rockefeller Center, wow, and many more, within great quality, a good amount of lighting in, and minimum distortortion. Believe me, if you want an full frame E mount (FE) wide angle this is it : this is the right choice. ----about the author: advanced amateur photographer and B&H addicted. 5 |

This stand was better than expected. The legs spread very wide which makes it quite stable with a 42 reflector, even without using a counter balance. It meets my needs admirably and with minimal cost. 5 |

I am using the lens for more than 6 months on my Leica M6 now, so I am not a pixel counter. I just love it shooting it wide open. The colors and the bokeh are a dream. On film, the lens is super sharp. I also never had a problem with the shifting focus described in other reviews. I never had a 50mm summilux, so I can’t compare. But I use this combined with a 90mm summicron and wouldn’t want to give it back. This lens really has a character that’s suits me very well. 5 |

I have a couple of these as well as a couple of the 60cm version and would heavily recommend this one over the other. They are both well built and easy to use (though there are some inner baffle option oddities I am scratching my head about). The main difference is that with an octagonal design - this softbox is just big enough to cover a human subject without being so far away as to be harsh. The 60cm simply can't do it. Both use the very small Godox mount which makes them compact and easy to transport. Using this with an AD300 Pro and I am very happy with the results. Definitely need more Godox mount options - but I can adapt my Bowens mods easily enough. I am liking Godox more with each passing year and no longer have a reason to even toy with the idea of a different lighting brand. Nice job with this extremely compact modifier. Keep up the product advancement Godox. 5 |

Yes, this Speed Ring is compatible with my Siros strobes. I have used it once professionally (with a 60cm by 60cm softbox) and it was easy to use. 5 |

This is one of my favorite lenses. For context, I have shot the 14mm f2.8, the 27mm pancake, and the 35mm f2. I nearly bought the Rokinon/Samyang 12mm but decided to buy this fisheye instead because it's smaller, and I thought the extra width could add some fun drama to my images. I am so happy with my decision. I even use this as a general lens for street and family. Don't worry about manually focusing this lens. Keep the aperture at f8 and everything will remain sharp. I only open it to f2.8 for astro photography, which it handles beautifully. My favorite way to shoot with this lens is with 1:1 (square) framing. It cuts off the extremely distorted sides and gives the image a wide, yet subject-centric, look. Only con is for flash users. The attached lens hood casts a long shadow when using a flash, so I simply do not use a flash with this lens. Definitely buy this fisheye if you're thinking about it. I bought the silver version because the X-mount versions come with a wide silver ring at the base. It looks good on my black X-E2s. 5 |

I got this lens (the silver version because the black one is way more expensive) 4 years ago for Sony E and it's been my main lens ever since then! It's pretty sharp wide open and gets even better once you stop it down. I mainly shoot around f/5.6-11, but I feel comfortable opening it wide up which is rare with a $300 lens. It works great for so many applications, but it's especially good for tight spaces where a longer lens would be super hard to use. I find that it shows almost the same field of view as your eyes see, which is nice because if I see something that would make a good shot then I don't feel the need to get in closer or move out further, like I would with another lens. I also like how if you're shooting f/5.6, you can just set the focus to infinity and everything from like 3ft on out is sharp. Overall a great useful lens, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a wider lens for apsc at a great price. Oh, and the silver version looks really cool on black camera bodies! 5 |
