70 Millimeter Hasselblad Camera

Very sharp and the color is great. It's very quiet to focus and fast. The focus ring it's nice because you can focus at any time without switching to manual the bad thing about the focus ring is that it does not have any scale or infinity symbol. so if you want to manual focus lets say to Infinity, you don't know if this is a type of lens you go all the way to the stop and leave it or back it off alittel bit? The Zoom ring was very tight and it had a little hang up near the 70 millimeter range. That was a concern for me, B&H is very cooperative letting me Test/check out a couple of their other lenses, one new and one used, and they all felt the same. just so you know this lens seems to have a little stiffness/indent type of feel around the 70 millimeter range. I tried to other lenses at the store and they had the same feel so I'm going to say this is normal for this particular lens. That's really the worst of it. I think it's a great lens well worth the money. This may not be right but I also noticed at taking pictures at night seem to be easier with this lens even though it's not a fast lens maybe it's that HD coating? Great lens give it a try.

Got my new super macro lens and began trying to use it. It has no electronic connection to the camera (no contacts). It just connects mechanically. The camera cannot determine what the lens is doing. The aperture closes down as you set it. But that gives you a good idea how dark your image will be. Very difficult to use with only a flash, because you cannot see to manually focus it (no auto-focus). If you provide a strong bright continuous light, it works fine. You can move the light around to try different angles and brightness and directly see what you will get. Does not have infinite focus. Will only focus a couple of inches from the lens. Depth of Field is probably less than a millimeter. Was able to manually "focus" using the view finder, but much better using a magnified live view. The major focus is just to move back and forth until the subject is in the millimeter of focus. The lens "focus" is really just twisting the f-stop ring and changing the length and magnification. With some practice, I could get the focus right where I wanted. It is amazing how much it magnifies! It was fun trying to find something small enough, so that you could see the whole subject in the frame. Attached is an uncropped photo of a single grain of table salt and a photo of tiny chia seeds. Really fun (but challenging) to play around with! Next I may get a focus rail and try some focus stacking.

I use this to cover my D800E and my Hasselblad. I find it works with both since I have a prism viewer for the Hassy. I have a 24-70 zoom and a 70-200 zoom for the D800E and this is perfect as can be. I studied all the covers and this was my compromise for my purposes. I don't need the plastic cover for the back of the camera , since I will not photograph in a monsoon downpour. To me, the best bang for the buck, longevity, capability, and economics.

This is my second ONA bag. My first was the Sedona and I use that for my Hasselblad gear. I bought this for my Canon R5. I like to take 3 lenses depending on what I'm shooting. One is the 15-35, 28-70 and 70-200. The other is 15-35, a 50 and a 100-500. Both setups fit fine and the bag is not to heavy. I don't carry a laptop with me since I can see my results on my Iphone, but a small ipad would fit. B&H are great to work with.

The Bolt macro flash unit really works well with my Sony a 99ll and 100 millimeter Sony macro lens. It was not hard to set up or to program, which was one of my concerns. I have just begun testing it out and I’m very pleased with my initial results. Having the ability to move the two flashers in any direction is a real plus for macro photography. I am looking forward to using the included gels and diffuser in the future. There’s a whole lot of potential here yet for me to discover.
