With the current restrictions on shipping lithium polymer batteries, AC adapters are sorely needed for studio assignments that have larger numbers of photos that need to be people.

This lithium battery is very reliable.

These new V.3 pouches are even better than the V.2. The rain covers are designed much better!

I had no complaints with v.1 but I can notice a (very small) improvement in the finish of v.2. It’s now less rugged which makes the image a little less “blurry”

The card fits perfectly in my wallet and is a tough polymer with some flex, not likely to crack. The battery feature on the key fob is an excellent upgrade also.

One of the Q&A’s says the Bescor BLS50AC dummy battery adapter kit is not compatible with the Olympus E-PL9.  I asked Bescor ( answers@bescor.com ) why the kit is compatible with the Olympus OM-D E-M5/M10, but not the Olympus Pen E PL9, since all three use the same Olympus BLS-50 battery.   The response was: “It will work. Your camera just needs to be added to our list.” The Bescor is 8V 3A. The Olympus battery is 7.2V 1175 mAh (1.175A).  I did some online research to see if a device built for 7.2V could operate at 8V.  One person describing himself as an engineer posted that 7.4V Lithium batteries actually span a 6V to 8.4v voltage range depending on state of charge of the battery.  Another “senior electrical engineer” said that because all devices are designed with some voltage tolerance value, a 7.4 volt device means 7.4 volt +/- 1 to 1.5 volts.  Still other posts indicated that you can use a 3A power adapter on a 1.5A device.  By logical extension, I figured (I don’t actually know) that since the PL9 uses a 7.2 volt battery, it is probably designed to also work at 8 volts, and is also okay running at 3A. Based on the response from Bescor and the Internet voltage and amperage responses, I decided to purchase the Bescor and use it with my PL9.  I haven’t seen any sign of overheating or other problems with this setup so far, but will update this review if that changes. I did not deduct points for the need to leave the battery compartment open because I knew that would be the case when I bought it.

Battery i ordered fit perfectly and it works better when its 7.2v not 7.4 volts. Same as factory battery.

Sony NP-FW50 batteries are 7.4V, and this battery plate has a DC output for both 7.4V and 12V, meaning you can power Sony a-series cameras off an l-series battery. In other words, you're never going to run out of power again if you have a cage and a few spare l-series batteries, which are way cheaper than buying numerous NP-FWs. Super simple, super well made, and does what it needs to.

Yes it's beefy & heavy metal wise but presents a smaller profile than the plastic one I modified for my rig. Yeah, the LED doesn't present the actual charge of the battery like my other one and I'm contemplating swapping out the LED so that it does The registration pin next to the screw can be removed so that it fits flat so that's a good thing. It works some kind of electrical magic outputting both 12v & 7.4v from a 7.4 battery which I don't understand but I'm a photographer, not an electronic wizard. Bought two and I'm keeping 'em.
