First, 60W will probably meet your needs in a small video studio. I only use 2-8% of the output. Secondly, a standard modifier platform (Bowens' S mount), has saved me a great deal of time. The lower cost silent heads would only accept barndoors, gaffing tape and aluminum foil. Far Far easier to repurpose old modifiers or purchase new. Previously, I would have to retape the foil at inopportune times. SILENCE is critical for me. Recording a cast once correctly is worth all the post processing in the world. Nothing beats SILENCE.

This is a microphone that works very well when recording to my Tascam 8 track recorder. The recorded audio is well balanced-not tinny or overly bassy. The bass is not muddy nor are the high frequencies lacking. It is built very solid and produces clean audio. I like the way that it can be placed very close to a guitar to pick up the full range of sound. If you purchase one you will not be upset.

This stand alone multi-track recorder had a steep learning curve for me, but, after learning basic operations such as open menu, create and/or load songs; assign microphone XLR/TRS jacks to a channel (easy) and basic recording operations, this unit is very fun to operate. Granted this unit has been out for quite a few years, and I had debated buying the 32 track recorder, but opted for this 24 track and have had a blast. Send effects unit ( taking a dry unaltered recording signal and making it wet adding effect with an effect such as reverb or delay) was tricky. Recommend turning the volume all the way up and adjust down to get the effect to your monitors. This unit is so much fun am now going to splurge on some really nice microphones. My recording will include solo work with and without keyboard; trio and quintet jazz and ensemble work, and larger ensembles.

First off, the recorder is TINY, about half the size of your traditional body pack. The safety track recording is a game changer, it gives you a lot of confidence to set it and forget it. Audio quality is very clean, low noise floor, but if you want A level audio buy a Countryman lav mic as well. I'm totally happy with this and will be using it for years to come.

I got this to use with a portable 4-track recorder mainly so I could take a split feed from the singer's mic -- *much* better sound than what's coming out of the PA -- or I can also combine two mics on a single channel when 4 mics just aren't enough. It works very well for both purposes, so I intend to get one or two more. It doesn't alter the sound at all, and seems to be rugged enough for field work. B&H has the best price.

I use these TR50 microphones with a Zoom H4N recorder to create an independent sound track for video/DVD production and I find they work very well indeed. Small negative point is that the microphone XLR connector is quite large/bulky and when the mic(s) are connected to the H4N recorder, the connector(s) hinders concealment of this portable recording unit when it is strapped/attached to your body.

This recorder works well and is surprisingly easy to operate. The pan and reverb are a plus. I like the way that one track can easily be recorded over (replaced) while listing to other tracks. It is not battery operated like the Tascam DP 008ex. I bought one for my son and he enjoys the portability of it. They are very similar in their operation. I am very pleased with both products and would recommend them both if you are looking for quality and ease of operation for a reasonable price.
