80S Professional Camera

I admit I have a strong preference for prime lenses. I've been a Pentaxian since the 80s, and while I've had many zooms, I've never loved any of them. This one is different. Images are pleasing, despite minor compromises that other reviewers cover well. It is small enough to be a go-anywhere lens and is surprisingly light and well-balanced on the camera (K-3). Autofocus is adequate. That's even true for candid shots if you preset the focus with the distance scale before raising the camera to eye (remember that old skill from the days of manual focus?). All-in-all, it's a keeper.

Infrared remote is so 80s, but still works great. Fires off the camera fine. You can point it at the wall, and it will bounce back to the camera just like the old TV remote. It works great up to a point of course.  However, when the battery is old, you have to point it more and more towards the camera.

Don't expect this to replace Retro 80S but you do get some more speed.

I feel like I am back in the 80s with this lens. Smooth focus and sharp. Fun to use.

Works well and can be use with an adaptor for professional camera.

I have been using Nikon cameras and lenses since the mid 80s and have owned many 50mm lens and this one is the best by a lot.

Upgraded the lyres on my 80s windscreen and threw on this caterpillar suit. Works great!

Does exactly what I wanted it to do - keep my gear safe and look cool doing it. Friends think I'm carrying around plutonium from the '80s.
