I am learning to enjoy my ASUS 15.6 Vivobook. It is a replacement for my nearly 14 year old laptop that has seen better days. I am on a limited budget, but I didn't want mediocre specs that would be outdated in 6 months. I do mainly internet browsing, some productivity work (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.), some low intensity gaming, and on occasion some video editing for my socials. Bottom line - You should probably get one while qtys and pricing are good. Pros - It has the specs I wanted (i9 CPU, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD) at a great price. More than enough computing power for gaming, casual internet browsing, and the occasional homework/essay. It included FREE 2-Day Shipping - I am on the West Coast. Screen colors are vibrant, keyboard is keyboard-y with backlit keys. The laptop itself is not the lightest out there, but is hardly the boat anchor ROG ASUS I still own that is on its last legs. It's offered thru a reputable dealer. Cons (ish) - Only 1920x1080 resolution and no touchscreen. I haven't really encountered any other negatives so far. It's been a while since I purchased MY own laptop. To be transparent, I have helped recommend and even purchased several laptops over the years for my family and friends. My previous-current laptop is a still-running ASUS G51J (i7 CPU 1st Gen, 6GB RAM, 500GB 2.5 HDD) - battery doesn't charge, but still works plugged in. I purchased it from B&H also circa 2010. Being a frugal tinkerer myself, but wanting the best value for my budget, I researched and compared several buying sources including big box stores, national (U.S.) retail chains and even Amazon, but I still chose B&H. Even though I am on the West Coast, I still found value in the products they offer as well as the service and buying experience. Did I mention FREE 2-Day shipping from the East Coast (NY). Hope this review helps.

I was looking for a 15 inch gaming laptop and I saw this on the B&H website. I was impressed by the specs and brought it. Since it had two SSD slots, one empty, I purchased a 1TB SSD and installed it, no problem. The Asus Tuf Gaming Laptop boots in seconds and the battery life is far beyond impressive, non-gaming, it lasts since most gaming laptops are bad on battery life. It has no DVD drive since it's military specs and no card reader which I purchased later. Excellent.

Happy with this monitor for good visuals and sufficient performance specs for more demanding applications like gaming. I actually got it to up my old screen resolution to reduce eye strain a little, which it seems to help a bit with for long sessions of focused working or gaming on my computer. It does occasionally briefly flicker black for a fraction of a second, but this isn't enough of an issue for me to even bother trying to investigate it... maybe once every two or three hours (there's a setting enabled by default that warns of flickering, but I haven't needed to try turning it off).

This Gaming Laptop is a solid choice for those who appreciate a machine that balances performance with practicality. It's equipped with Intel i7 ensuring that it can handle the demands of the latest games and multitasking with ease. The 4050 GPU delivers crisp, clear graphics, making every gaming session a visual treat. The Onyx Gray finish gives it a mature, sophisticated look, while the 15-inch display offers a generous view of your digital endeavors. It's a bit on the heavier side, but that's a small price to pay for a laptop that's as reliable as it is powerful. Whether you're gaming, working, or both, this laptop is a dependable partner for the long haul.

NOTE: I am receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for my feedback. I needed a replacement everyday laptop for work / personal use. I looked around quite a bit at various manufactures, specs, sizes, and colors......this one won out. I really wanted a 14in'ish laptop for the size and weight, but I this one was acceptable at the slightly larger 15.6in screen size but still a good overall size and weight. I also REALLY like the orange highlights on the ESC key and the bumper on the bottom. PROs: Great value for the specs; i9 processor, 1TB hardrive, 16gb ram, Intel Iris AND Intel ARC graphics (assignable in Windows settings to specific apps), nice backlit keyboard with auto shutoff when not in use, full number pad, fingerprint reader on power button that works well, physical camera cover, great trackpad, and good typing experience. CONs: 1920x1080p screen resolution, wish it had at least 16:10 or 2K resolution. Memory can't be upgraded, it is soldered onto the motherboard with no spare slots. BUT, I knew both these things before I bought it, so not truly CONs, just items to be aware of. One item that has been odd is USB-C charging. This laptop comes with a DC pin power supply and does technically work with USB-C charging through the TB4 port. However, I have multiple USB-C power supplies that work with my Lenovo laptops and none of them work with this laptop. It has a 19V at 4.74A power input, which none of the (reputable) power supplies I have can provide. Just an odd quirk that I was not expecting, so for now I use the DC pin power supply. Overall, I would recommend this laptop to friends and family, especially when you can get it on sale at B&H like I did.

It's a good little SSD, just an extra terabyte of storage for gaming on my laptop. Good speed, and I don't really have to worry about the thermal-issues that can arise from putting a 4.0/5.0 NVME in an enclosed laptop chassis. (The differences between 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 SSDs are negligible when it comes to everything besides transfer of large files)

This is the most powerful gaming laptop that was available at the time I purchased it.
