Like everything else in the UniFi lineup, this access point has been nothing but rock solid and easy to set up. It works great to expand wifi coverage to my backyard, since the wifi signal inside my house doesn't make it reliably outside. I can't comment on the mesh functionality since I have it connected via Cat 6 outdoor ethernet cable to a Ubiquiti US-8-60W switch inside the house, so it's just acting like an access point rather than a mesh network. It is also connected outside to a Ubiquiti ETH-SP-G2 surge protector (in the picture, which I need to ground), and a second ETH-SP-G2 on the outside of the house, where the ethernet cable goes into the house (grounded). The access point and surge protector is mounted under my deck, on one of the support pillars. My only negative feedback is the mounting options. While the access point comes with a few different options (pole mount, wall mount, and antenna mount), the mount that I was going to use (wall mount) doesn't look like it has a way to detach the access point too easily. I first mounted it to the Ubiquiti Universal Antenna Mount (UB-AM), but the antenna mount was overkill for one little access point and the surge protector, so I ended up returning that. I like the antenna mount that comes with the access point, which I ultimately used, since it has a tab you push to detach the access point from the mount. I intend to remove the access point during the winter, since I'm not in my backyard much then (living in Colorado). So I ended up drilling a couple of small screw holes in the middle of the antenna mount, which has worked well. 5 |

I use these all around the house as an economical surge protector that I can rely on, wherever I don't need the additional coax or network lines protected as well. The design of the supressor is such that you can use up to three bulky transformers without blocking the use of the other outlets, since two of the outlets are provided on the side. Additionally, it has a rating of 2160J, which is plenty of protection for me for most applications. After having an issue with a lightning strike, I spent a lot of time researching reviews of products and customer feedback to get a feel for which companies actually stood behind their products. Tripp-Lite was the only one I felt I could trust. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Oh I love this and wow didn't realize how much I keede a surge protector. My house got struck by lighting lost a TV but not the TV or sound system or fireplace because of this surge protector. I already bought 3 mire for the rest of the house. 5 |

Ever since I installed my Tripp-lite surge protector I feel so much more confident that my electronics will be safe at home no matter what, barring a burglary! It has given me peace of mind! 5 |

This time I have installed my third battery into S20BLK AV surge protector and battery backup, this is after the first time several years went by and the battery was just time to change. I was new to all of this i thought it was the end of the world; i have around 100,000.00 worth of Hight end audio and video equipment in this one of three racks that is my AMX home automation system intalled inh 2005. the next two battery replacements where after major electrical storms and lightining strikes. Fried the battery and the equipment is perfectly safe. I am about to order my fourth battery because it happended again with the lightening in New York this week. This time they all went i had on hand replacement batteries in waiting. I put them in and I was up and running again. You cannot kill these systems and they are worth the investment. You would be a fool to not install these into you system. A must have. Frank 5 |
