A1000 Mirrorless Camera

I purchased this camera to replace a more-than-ten-years-old Powershot A1000 IS. I wanted more megapixels, a greater zoom and updated camera software. The SX740 HS has satisfied all of those desires. The camera is comfortable to hold without the display or controls being obtrusive. The pictures are very acceptable for such a small sensor and are well exposed. Pictures with the zoom up to the 40x are very good; quality deteriorates going beyond that. Working through the menus takes a bit of getting used to, but practice, as usual, helps. The case that comes with the kit provides a tight fit for the camera; you wont be able to store an extra memory card in it with the camera. The only real complaint is with the wrist strap that comes with the camera. Its thin and too big to do more than hang loosely around your wrist. Count on purchasing a separate wrist strap more to your liking.

I bought this strap to go with the NIKON COOLPIX A1000 camera for my 14 year old granddaughter. Aspiring photographer, this strap is light weight and easy on/off when shooting.

Perfect to charge your extra batteries, or just the one in your camera. Bought this for the Nikon COOLPIX A1000 camera battery.

I have the Coolpix A1000 & P950 and wanted a longer zoom without having to lean a new platform. This camera fit my need perfectly. It is a bit heavier but well worth the weight given the extra zoom gained. It connects to SnapBridge for easy transfer to mobile.

On the nikon a1000 you need a backup up battery and this one works just fine

Unfortunately, the battery that came with my Nikon A1000 Coolpix, was having a problem keeping a charge. I ordered two...I'm a big believer in backups...Of the Watson EN-EL 12 Battery. They came almost fully charged, and work great! And for the price, are a steal!
