A9 Camera Review

First off - don’t believe the L Mount junk everyone is saying. There is a large offering of lenses releasing soon and the F4 24-105 is so incredible it could come glued to the camera and I doubt I’d care! Additionally, I have the sigma EF adapter and use a Canon 50mm 1.4 and a Canon 70-200 2.8 and they look insanely good as well on this camera. Second - I came from GH5 AND Sony A9 AND Sony A7iii... this camera replaced ALL THREE off those cameras with flying colors even before the Vlog upgrade that’s about to drop! User Interface - Nothing beats Lumix! Color Science - Very good. Low Light - Beats even the Sony’s Focus - Photos, completely useable... not quite as fast or accurate as Sony A9 but very very close. Video, No less reliable than the Sony. Meaning that even on both cameras you’re going to have to watch these cameras depending on what you’re filming and make sure they nailed it. I struggle no less with this than with the Sony. 5 |

The best batteries that Sony has come out to date with the mirrorless camera system . Work great with the Sony A9... 5 |

I bought this RRS base for my Sony A9. Of course the fit and finish are excelent. Moving the battery door to the RRS base was easy and the result was more pleasing than expected. The battery door is very secure in its new position. The best side benefit of this base for me is that it leaves the A9 with a slightly wider base and makes the camera more steady. I use a heavier FE 1.8 55, and with the new base, the camera will not tip over when placed on a flat surface with the lens attached. 5 |

I LOVE this little camera! I also have a Sony A9ii mainly for Birds in Flight photography, but I wanted a smaller, lighter, camera with a decent sensor and a single, all-in-one lens. Without having to change lenses, the RX10iv gives me 20 MP and the equivalent of 24mm-600mm (the A9 has a much faster and slightly larger 25 MP sensor but I need three separate, big, heavy lenses to cover 24 to 600.) I love that all the major controls on the RX10 are laid out much like the A9. I also LOVE having the three Custom Buttons, the ability to customize most of the other buttons, and the 12 Function slots – this has allowed me to set up this camera nearly the same as my A9 (this is really helpful for my old brain!) This is an excellent all-purpose everyday camera!! 5 |

This lens is fantastic using it with a Sony A9 camera as one can capture birds in flight images fast. Not only fast but the images come out sharp as the AF locks on almost every time. This is my go to lens when I want to hand hold the camera setup for a period of time. I also have the Sony 200-600mm lens that I like better when I use a tripod. Though today I will be testing that lens out without a tripod. The only negative issues is that the lens is a tad bit on the expensive side. However, I personally like having native lenses on my Sony Alpha Cameras that way I know they are going to AF properly, so I rather spend a little extra in avoiding a few headaches and/or disappointments. 5 |

I recently purchased my first ever Leica camera (after forty-plus years of using Nikon and most recently Sony (a9, a7iii, a7Rii). I was concerned that my big mitts wouldn't be able to grip the smallish Q2 Monochrom....and although I could have gotten by without the handgrip.....the grip has made holding and manipulating the Q2 a lot easier. One hand operation when needed is easy. 5 |

I used a9, a9ii, a7RM4 and now a7S3. I shoot mainly local wildlife and sometimes a video too. This camera is perfect for me because I do not print any pictures and I share online with friends only. It’s perfect 12MP and I can shoot any light conditions. If you shoot video daily, you must get this camera but it’s excellent for still photography too. Highly recommended for you. 5 |

I prefer to hold a camera in the left hand and could never be comfortable holding my A9, especially when using zooms. The RRS L-Plate gives me the adjustable grip I was longing for. Both hands are now comfortably holding the camera. I also hooked my camera strap to the bottom left hole of the L Plate and to the right eyelet of the camera so the camera hangs down comfortably and provide stability when shooting. It is worth every penny. 5 |

I had a pre-order for the A1 but I decided to cancel it since I already own the A9 II and A7RIII. I sold my video camera and decided to get this. I was NOT disappointed. This is the best hybrid video/stills camera I've had. The still photographs are enough to print and even then I can use Topaz on them to enlarge to larger size. The ISO performance is out of this world and with steadyshot active mode on, it works basically like my old AX700 does for video. I love it. If I had the money, I would buy a second one. 5 |

Unbelievable pocket camera. It is like having mini A9 in your pocket. Shooting grip comes handy too. I have been using Sony E-mount cameras for last 10 years, so menu system is no problem for me. What I like the most about this camera is an incredibly fast focusing and lens range. 5 |
