Battery charger for up to 8 AA or AAA NiMH NiCd batteries. It also will tell you if a battery is no good. You can also completely drain a battery on it before a recharge, which extends the life and strength of the battery. The only setback is that this is not a fast charger, so extra batteries are needed if one is doing a lot of flash work with remotes.

Sony has and continues to be a tour de force in the digital camera industry. I bought the spare battery for my Sony RX1. The kit comes with a charger the size of the battery vs. some humongous device. When I change out an exhausted battery I place it in the small case/charger. Once home I simply plug the charger in. Smart engineering and great product!

I started off with the Watson 4-AA charger and have moved up to the 8-AA charger... because I use it ALL THE TIME. I still use one-use brand name batteries for flashes, LED light banks, and wireless transmitters and receivers. But, everything else gets the Watsons; i.e., audio recording devices, mics, etc. They help bring down my battery costs... and throw less battery acid into the recycle bin. When I order new Watson AA batteries, I put a mark on them to indicate which batch they are. First group lifecycle = 1; second group = 2. I have up to three group lifecycles going on at a time. Why? Because you want to know which ones are at or near the end of their productive lifecycle. For me, they seem to last about 30 recharges each... After that, they do not hold the charge that well, nor sustain the delivery of power... and they are not supposed to do it. The 30 recharges I get are already value on value of savings. Even at the end of a lifecycle, I can use them for really low-level energy devices (like remote controls). I just recommend knowing when to get rid of them. The charger does make the batteries hot, from time to time. That's how it re-activates the acids in them. I have tried other brands of AA battery rechargers and they all get questionably hot. The only rechargers that do not get batteries hot are like my pro-level camera batteries, but those are way more expensive. For the price, these are priceless.

The AA battery charger I had before only handled four batteries at a time and did not have a refresh or discharge capability. Realizing that rechargeable batteries need to be fully discharged periodically I wouldn't buy anything else but this product from now on.

I was asked by Coast to review the ZX AA battery as a field tester. Coast sent me a package that contained 4 AA batteries as well as a charger. The instructions advised to charge the batteries prior to using. The charger is capable of charging 1-4 batteries at a time. The batteries have a USB-C charging slot so it was easy to connect the charger and start that process. The power source end of the charger cleverly is able to be plugged into a USB-A or USB-C adapter. The batteries were fully "recharged" in about 20 minutes. There is an indicator light on each battery for the status of the charging process. I tested 2 batteries in one of my many Coast flashlights. The batteries provided power for just over 4 hours before needing to be recharged. There was no change in brightness of light while the flashlight was on. The recharging process took about 30 minutes. If you are looking for AA rechargeable batteries, these are a nice choice!

The Watson 4-bay charger and AA battery kit come with everything you need to game all day. I primarily use these in my xbox x controllers. Over the past month I've been using these instead of the normal sams club batteries that we usually buy. My kids usually go through a set of double A's a month in the controllers. We are a little over a month and I haven't had to replace them yet so that's a pretty good sign. The charger has a bunch of safety features inside like the ability to independently distribute power to each battery based on the type and capacity which prevents overheating and over charging of the batteries. The charger is small enough that I can drop it into a backpack with no problem if needed. These are a great replacement for the single use batteries that I was previously using. [I received this item in exchange for my honest review]

What else could you want in a AA/AAA NiMH/NiCd battery charger? It has eight LCDs showing the charging status for each battery, a discharge function to refresh the batteries, reverse polarity protection if the batteries are installed backwards, and a separate automatic shutoff for each battery when it is fully charged. And it can charge any combination of one or more AA, AAA NiMh and/or NiCd batteries. Its rated charging time is 3.6-4.6 hr for AA batteries and 1.6-2.0 hr for AAA's.
