I needed multitrack recording to Ableton and a way to incorporate a looper into my setup without getting a feedback sound loop. I can do this with the Model 12 by sending tracks out via the SUB out then back in through a separate track pointed at the main out. This can do both so I'm very happy! Looks great and very well build. I recommend it if you want to upgrade your home studio setup.

I use the HD 280s for my personal recording with PrTools Reason and Ableton. They are comfortable for long periods of wear (5-6 hours) and block out ambient noise. I can recommend these to anyone with a studio. ...

I use this for Ableton Live, it's miles away from the old nanokontrol... it will receive midi signals, so when you click something with your mouse in a DAW the corresponding button is illuminated or turns off on your nano. Comes ready with mappings for some DAWs (ableton and others) or you can make your own maps. WIth the preloaded ableton map you can solo, mute, rec, pan, fade, and you can cycle between which tracks you control... control first 8 tracks then hit next track button and control the next 8. No motorized faders but you cant expect that. and the buttons dont stick anymore.

This is the perfect item for powering clip-on instrument microphones or PZM's, especially when recording to a portable digital recorder with built in XLR jacks. Good Luck finding another model at this low price...

I use it for recording on a budget, and it works as a mic and guitar preamp. I would imagine that any other instrument you can plug into it would sound great as well. It has the distinctive sound that you'd expect from a valve. And with a guitar plugged up to it, any but the most picky audiophiles would be hard pressed to tell it apart from a tube amp. It also functions as a splitter as it sends signals through both the XLR and TS (1/4) outputs at the same time. It was so well worth the $ dollars that I ordered a second one within minutes of receiving the first.

I use this product in vocal recording and podcasting. I have some future plans for instrument recording with it and have done some testing there as well. This arm is quiet when moved and stays when I put it in a particular position. It works well with other mics as long as they have a bit of weight. The only thing I found that may be a minus is when it is used with a light microphone, but I find that to be an obvious problem for a spring loaded broadcast arm.
