Acer Gaming Laptop Mechanical Keyboard

I purchased this for my Acer Predator Helios 500 gaming laptop and it works perfectly! It arrived early and was easy to install. *Tip* - you can find easy installation instructions available online at crucial.com. I highly recommend this product and, moreover, B&H as a seller. I believe Acer is one of the best values in laptops. But with value comes some compromises. For this purchase, I was just looking at raw specifications and wanted top-of-the-line or near-top for a 16 gaming laptop. (I was fine with a 13th gen Intel CPU b/c there really isn't any meaningful improvement to the 14th gen, so buying a laptop that has been out for a year is an even better way to save money). This laptop has fantastic performance - I use it to game and for video/audio editing via Premiere. I can run any game I care to play at max settings. The screen is surprisingly vibrant, even though it's not the mini-led. Be aware that battery life for this laptop (and most upper-end gaming laptops in general) is pretty atrocious (2, MAYBE 3 hours under light usage). If you plan to do anything processor/GPU intensive on battery alone..., it's not going to happen. This laptop is happiest being plugged in and acting as a desktop replacement more than a true laptop that you're going to carry around all the time. I love it because I can take it with me when I travel and have an awesome machine with a small(er) footprint. This laptop isn't the most quiet (the fans can get pretty raucous), it isn't the best-looking, and doesn't have the best thermals, but it is, in my opinion, a great buy at a very reasonable price if you understand what these types of machines are like.

My job has me working from home, and in 6 different offices, some days I can't guarantee which location I'll be the following day. I finally was fed up with just dealing with whatever dusty, used mouse & keyboard might be available in whatever office I was in and bit the bullet to get a good set I could take with me anywhere for consistency. (I did buy a separate rigid clamshell case for the keyboard & mouse to keep from damaging them in my backpack) I've enjoyed using mechanical keyboards for years, from an IBM mechanical keyboard in the late 80s-90s, and a few with Cherry MX Blue switches for my PC since 2010. I hate standard laptop keys and membrane keyboards. The MX Mechanical is a joy to type on and the shortcut keys are a welcome addition (dedicated calculator app button especially). The MX Master 3S is extremely comfortable to use, and the horizontal scroll wheel is convenient since I'm in excel & Google spreadsheets for most of the day. The fact that these are both wireless and share the same USB receiver has made my setup/packup less stressful, no longer fumbling with wires and multiple usb plugs. The USB receiver stays in my laptop and I just flick the on/off switch for the Keyboard and Mouse at the start/end of my work day.

Bought this to add to my Acer laptop, and it works just like it's supposed to. Recommended!

I installed the 2 Crucial memories in my ACER laptop and everything works fine up to now.

It gives you the nice, clean feeling of a mechanical keyboard, but it's silent!!
