I'm an amateur acoustic musician/singer who replaced a Fostex MR-8HD I had for 20+ years (now it has a static-producing clicking hard drive) with this machine, and it's great. I recommend downloading the manual before you buy to really see what it can do first. My favorite and most-used feature is the repeat button with the auto-punch in-out so I can fix a banjo lick or a vocal flaw with 8 quick takes and pick the best one. First unit came in a damaged open box (not the manufacturers box, but presumably an oversized box the delivery company used to replace the original box, with essentially no packing and the manual taped to the outside), so I didn't even try it out before returning it, but B&H took it back in stride and quickly sent another unit that came in perfect condition. And an FYI, it does NOT come with a USB cable as B&H lists as in the box (the manual even says that's not included), but it did come with a 4MB (not just 2MB) MICRO SD card inserted into a standard-size SD adapter card, which has room for your first song or two. Great unit and good company to deal with.

Wireless Manual Power Control flash is the best way to shoot and with the TT5 and AC3 on camera, manual flash power can be adjusted at the camera. There's no need to stress when manual power needs changing. No need to hike around to all of the lights. And with the TT5 on camera, the camera and lights can be triggered together with a Sekonic Light Meter.

Bought for the chorus area of our cavern acoustic church, these speakers were the perfect solution. Sound is uniform and can be heard up to the front. Sound quality is top notch as well as the speakers construction. Built like tanks, will last a long time but they are heavy. We are happy with the results.

For a little background, I have owned a K10, a KW122, and a KSub. Our GB band owns many QSC speakers, as well, including the K8, K10, K12, KW152, and KW181. I am a guitarist and bassist and sometimes run a pre-amp into the K-series speakers directly for lower volume situations. The original K8 has always been my favorite for acoustic guitar and I have used one many times to perform outdoor wedding ceremonies. The wide dispersion pattern and detailed midrange sits nicely with acoustic instruments. The K8.2, to me, almost sounds like the original K10 in regards to depth of sound while retaining the wider dispersion of the 8" driver. It puts out a lot of quality sound in a small form factor. I'm sure many of us are happy that the K8.2 also has the ability to be used as a floor monitor, too, which is another application I will be using mine for. The new onboard DSP, while not as quick to navigate as the analog dip switches of the original K-series, adds lots of functionality. Most notable for instrumentalists is the addition of the high impedance input setting on channel B. Combined with the onboard EQ and three different high pass filter settings, you can skip using a pre-amp and plug straight in, if a simplified setup is needed. I plan on using it this way for playing lower volume cocktail hour duo scenarios. Also, thank you B&H for offering this speaker with the carrying bag included. It made it easy to decide where to purchase it!

I bought 2 speakers for the stereo imaging and they work great. I was afraid that the base would be too strong for my acoustic music. The base is strong but it handles acoustics well too. Syncing up the two speakers does require extra button pushes from the back of the speakers every time they are powered up, which is not the most convenient, but it's a great feature.

I am a solo acoustic guitar musician and I used these for the first time last Saturday. I played at a medium size club and with the height adjustment I was able to elevate the speakers over everybody in the building. This helped in controlling feed back, which is always a problem with a acoustic guitar. I can't say enough about the ease of raising 60 pound speakers with one hand, the power asist is awesome!

Most studios, even with acoustic treatment, will have inconsistencies within the frequency domain caused by furniture reflection, stubborn low-frequency room modes and, in the case of a multichannel setup, slight delays and phase differences between the speakers. Sonarworks corrects for all of it, and allows for plenty of customization according to the engineer's listening preference. The calibration takes about 20min for a stereo set, but the difference is night and day. It will not replace acoustic treatment, but it surely is a big cherry on the cake. Mixes translate more easily, and I don't spend hours checking if a particular resonance or frequency build-up is caused by the room/speakers or by the mix itself.
