This is a work horse mic used by every sound engineer to record any type of instruments:brass, percussion, etc.

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

MUCH BETTER THAN ?, The sound feels so beautiful, it deliver you the acoustical sound that you want with perfect combination of Bass and Treble without any sting. Marshall never disappoint anyone.

It's a elastic shock mount and does what it is meant to. If you have a PR40, you really should have this to help non acoustical low frequencies from being picked up by the microphone and eating up headroom. The microphone is not particularly bad on it's own, this just makes it better. The PR40 foam windscreen fits perfectly with this.

Use it mainly for acoustical field recording what ever I record. It is sensitive to the minute sound I use 2 mics to get spatial sound

I give 5 stars because the quality seems great so far and the mic seems sturdy. I have only had the chance to use it once or twice, but for testing it in a poor acoustical environment and not having a great pre-amp yet, I got very good sound.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old headset was big, heavy and gave me a head ache after long gaming sessions. My new JBL head set is very comfortable, surprisingly light and not so cumbersome. I love how the mic boom folds up and automatically mutes the mic. Lets be honest, sometimes we cant break for food and might eat and game at the same time. The last thing you want is to be chewing or crunching in someones ear. The mic simply folds up, mutes and gets out of the way for your next window to scarf some pizza - LOL! The only negative i can see from this set is that JBL still doesnt have the ability with the USB dongle to work with the XBOX. Hopefully soon in the future.

I have been enjoying this backdrop immensely. It mutes light that hits it really well. The only gripe I have, and its more a personal nitpick that Id not rate it down for, is that it does not have the eyelets that other Impact backdrops have for hanging without a rack/rod. I prefer to keep a paper roll on my rack/rod and hang my cloth drops from a rafter, but alls well. Especially if youre shooting low-key or similar, this is a very worthy purchase.
