I decided to try an upgrade from an 8BG RAM to a 16GB RAM because of two issues. One, my activity monitor, at times, indicated a small degree of Memory Pressure, and two, I thought one of my main programs probably needed more RAM. Very happy so far. My Activity Monitor now seems to indicate 10 to 12GB of memory used, so I assume my additional 8GB of RAM is helping. Not sure I can actually tell the difference going from 8 to 16GB of RAM but the additional RAM appears at least to be useful according to the Activity Monitor. 5 |

I love the Slik ECH-630 compact star tracker because you can take it anywhere and it fits in my camera bags perfectly and does not take up a lot of space like my other larger trackers. The quality of the product is excellent and is solidly built. I have used this for multiple time-lapse and milky way shots even during the last solar eclipse. one of the best features is being able to connect an external USB battery pack and it gives you days instead of just 20 hours. The only issue I have with this star tracker is the alignment using just the 2 visual ports on the device but I have a solution for that and purchased a green bore laser and can now polar align perfectly. I highly recommend this and also the SLIK SMH-250. 5 |

This is exactly what I needed--a simple, effective, and portable star tracker at a decent price. Yes, it fits in the bag nicely. The device is very well built. No messing with WiFi connections in the dark and cold as my other tracker requires. There are some trade-offs in terms of carrying capacity and longer exposures are difficult. It is the right balance of attributes for me. Money well spent. 5 |
