This printer does EVERYTHING as advertised, with the exception of the NFC feature. In fact, I added a $13 wifi dongle and updated the firmware today, and now, it does even more. Originally, the printbiz android app would only work via an ad-hoc (direct wifi) connection to the printer; but with the update, I was able to wirelessly connect the printer to my router (infrasture wifi connect). Dont know if windows wifi printing will work in infrastructure mode, but ad-hoc printing via windows is a feature in the driver installation. 5 |

I had an 8-year old Brother printer that had bad connectivity issues in my home mesh WiFi environment. Then the time came that I had to replace all four toners, so instead I spent SIGNIFICANTLY less $$ to purchase this new machine complete with 6-months worth of toner (very light home office use; more scanning than printing). With this Canon I get modern WiFi to connect to our network. Everyone in the house can easily print from MacBooks, iPads & iPhones via WiFi. The Brother just couldn't find or stay connected to our network. Even plugging into the ethernet didn't solve that so the old printer could only be used w/ a USB cable. There are NONE of those issues with the Canon. Worked right out of the box like I expect from new tech. I'm impressed with the scanning software, too. Better than the Brother app, but YMMV So far very happy with this purchase. 5-stars. And as always, B&H makes tech buying simple. Plus next-day delivery over 100-miles from NYC. Flawless!! Surpasses my old Canon printer in every way. Never goes offline, never jams, never displays random error messages, printed paper never flies off and lands on the floor, never has to be unplugged and restarted. It just prints, every time, without a hassle. Smaller and quieter, too. Nothing but love for this one! 5 |
