Adding A Ssd Drive To Pc

This is my first time using a Samsung SSD Drive in my computers....I was expecting it to be quite difficult to upgrade from an old Hard Drive. However Samsung made the process a simple and painless upgrade with the included utilities on a DVD. One which has improved the performance of my old PC tremendously. I will now convert my other two PC's with the same SSD. 5 |

I´m working off a SSD HD in my PC. Nothing fancy but transfer rates are consistently anywhere between 75MBs to over 400MBs relative to the size and quantity of files being transferred. I´m using the drive very regularly (not always daily) and am very pleased with the performance of the drive. Only drawback is superficial. Scuff marks on the edges of the drive from ordinary use. I had to drag this down to Earth somehow, right? In the future I´ll only be using 3.1 SSD flash drives (unless some other future tech runs this over). Anything else is just plain slow. FYI: Weather or not you decide to buy this drive, just remember to check transfer speeds of the actual drives inside the casing. USB 3.0 or 3.1 is just an interface, check what the drive itself can deliver. 5 |

At work, I have upgraded a dozen desktops and laptops with hard drives by installing this SSD. It fits in the space of a 2.5 laptop drive. Many desktops have mounting points for a 2.5 drive. If not, a storage bay adapter is available for a few dollars. Unless an M.2 slot for NVMe SSD's is available, this is the best way to make a PC orders of magnitude faster. With increased use of cloud storage, a 500GB SSD is more than adequate to replace a 1 TB HDD especially in business settings. My experience with Crucial/Micron memory and SSDs has been very positive. That's why I keep buying/recommending them. If you leave the HDD in a desktop PC, make sure you get the SATA/power cables for this SSD. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung has hit yet another home run with the 990 PRO. This Gen4 NVMe SSD delivers top performance and reliability for gaming, content creation, or any other demanding use. With this drive, I’m confident that data storage will never be the bottleneck in my PC. Installation was a simple matter of plugging the drive into an M.2 slot and tightening a single screw. This non-heatsink version of the SSD was an ideal fit for my PC, which came with its own cooling solution. As a convenient bonus, Samsung offers downloadable data migration software for those who need it. In use, the 990 PRO is an absolute joy. With peak speeds over 7100MB/s, the drive provides a noticeable boost to just about everything I do. Game loading times are blissfully short, Windows boots up in a flash, 4K video editing is a breeze, and browsing through my massive photo collection feels instantaneous. Samsung’s Magician software is easily the most comprehensive among SSD manufacturers, and the company has a long track record of updating their drive firmware whenever the need arises. This level of support gives me peace of mind and is something you just don’t get with cheaper brands. Overall, the 990 PRO is a premium SSD in every way, and I’d recommend it without reservation. 5 |

Easy to install and works well. I replaced the existing PC boot drive 1TB SSD with this 4TB SSD for added speed and space. It works flawlessly. The hardest part (nothing to do with the SSD) was cloning the old SSD and getting that into the new SSD. In all, installation took about 30 mins; cloning and getting onto the new SSD about 3hrs. 5 |

I purchased this adapter to mount an SSD drive in my PC. This product is a far better option than the typical plastic adapters that are on the market. The AdaptaDrive is the only product I've seen that provides SATA and power connectors to interface with the 2.5 drive. This prevents the cabling issues users have reported with other adapters. The AdaptaDrive is also solid metal and extremely well built. The open design is also great for air flow around the drive. The AdaptaDrive costs more than the plastic alternatives, but it's worth every cent. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this solid state drive as a boot disk for one of my mini pc's. It was a quick and easy install. By putting the OS on the ssd, the pc boots up and starts so much faster than it used to. 120gb isn't a huge amount, nowadays, but it is enough to put most of my regular use programs on and run the peripherals off the external hard drive. I'm currently building a gaming pc and will incorporate ssd boot up in it, for sure. 5 |

Take your formatted SATA SSD out of a PC bay and use it like a giant thumb drive. How convenient? If you have a use case for using an SSD with multiple devices, this is a simple way to make data transfers and archiving easy. 5 |

As a PC builder and a hard core data archiver. I have purchased several of these WD blue 2.5 SSD drives over the last 5 years. Never had any issues with them. I purchased 2 of these 4TB ones to replace slower mechanical drives in my desktop as well as a 2tb one to add to my laptop. These are not the fastest SSD drives out there of course, but they are a HUGE step up over any 7200rpm mechanical drive. These are plenty fast for most of your regular tasks or even 4k video playback/editing. We use them in multi tracking sessions with a Digital Audio Work station where we record several uncompressed WAV files at a time, and the drive never breaks a sweat. Great mid grade SSDs for anyone looking to upgrade their mechanical drives HDDs. 5 |

I wish I had known to buy a 3.5” adapter AND a SATA to USB adapter, so that the SSD would fit into my PC’s hard drive bay and I could do the cloning process with the Acronis software download. Cloning the hard drive over to the SSD was relatively easy. If it’s not booting properly, check the SATA connections to the drive and motherboard. 5 |
