It's like a glove compartment in a car. You can stuff it with anything from weights to accessories you need to have at reach arm.

It's expensive! Not too expensive, but when you start buying accessories for it the costs start adding up real quick! It's an excellent handle, though; which is why I bought it.

Hot shoes make adding on accessories fast and easy. When you have little time between set ups a hot shoe is a nice feature. Add a mic, light, monitor in seconds versus minutes.

This adds more secure points of contact on the Red for adding top AND side accessories while not hindering the use of the existing ports. I had the old version on my old Epic and this is my first purchase for our new Epic-W. It does add a little bit more weight to the camera but that's a small price to pay for never having to worry about stripping screws from constantly building and tearing down the accessories.
