One day a USB C gen 3 connection failed causing a tethering program to crash as only gen 2 was available. I used this adapter to connect to a USB A gen 3 port to get the job done. It turned out that Microsoft (in their inimitable way) had replaced the manufacturers USB C driver with a generic driver during an update that caused the ASMedia 3142 to provide Gen 2 service only. 5 |

The stock fan that came with my i3 was causing 70+ degree temps when playing any game. Dropped this in and now I'm idling at 27 Celsius, and under load about 53. Fans are much quieter in my case and my room is much cooler, as I no longer have a computer case doubling as a space heater. 5 |
