I know that I will get great use out of Adobe's Photoshop and Lightroom software all year. So I like to pay for it 12-months at a time. This is a way to do that. And B&H's instructions are pretty easy to follow.

I renewed an existing Photoshop/Lightroom subscription through B&H. Since I'm a regular customer of both B&H and Adobe, the whole process was quick and easy.

I have been a Lightroom user since version 1, but have long resisted moving to the subscription plan system (staying with version 5 since 2012). With a new computer purchase, I decided this was the time but was shocked to see the price on the Adobe website had increased to $20 per month. This was the only way I found to get the price back down to $10 per (which was what I had budgeted), so I went ahead and made the switch. Love the new features/tools, there has been many improvements since the last version 5 update, but am happy the interface has remained the same so it was a seamless transition. Cannot say enough good things about the organizational abilities of Lightroom along with the myriad ways to find an image once it is in the catalog. Over 100,000 photos and I can track down an image within 15 seconds when necessary. Once found, it is quick and easy to make the necessary adjustments prior to output. While I would love to be able to purchase a perpetual license as before, this 12 month subscription seems like a decent compromise considering the new Adobe pricing.

Scott Kelby is the friend you always wanted to patiently explain to you how to use Adobe's amazing software. As he will tell you, he wants you to feel he is sitting there with you every step of the way. In clear, straightforward language, he leads you through every step like it is a walk through Yosemite on a beautiful day. After getting Lightroom, it was obvious this was a powerful platform and if I was going to get anywhere, I would need training. I am big fan of Scott's digital photo books and I knew he would not disappoint when I got this book. I lived with it and Lightroom for a couple of weeks. I read every page, and tried everything in cataloging and processing. What a difference! Rather than wondering how to do something, I now know how to do something. Don't fool yourself, you are not a photographer until you can process your images.Unlike other manuals where all you get out of a paragraph is a splitting headache, Scott gives you the tools and confidence you need with ease. I was quite thrilled that I was able to tell Scott in person that he changed my photography to what it is today. He was quite modest about it and pleased to see some of my work, work that is at a level I did not know how to do without him.

This cable is pretty great. I use it to tether my computer running EOS utility 3 and Adobe Lightroom to my Canon EOS 80D for remote shooting. Unlike other cables I have bought in the past, this one seems to stay in my camera very well.

What a time save - portraits are imported directly into Lightroom for any post processing and cataloging. Reviewing the shot on a laptop is much more efficient than the monitor on my Nikon D3.
