Advanced Router Wireless Options

The typical home wireless router puts everything in one box - the router, software, and wireless access points. UniFi breaks it apart into plug and play modules that you can place anywhere independently. This gives way more configuration options which is all straight forward with the UniFi software. For those a little more knowledgeable on networking this is an awesome setup to have. Originally I plugged the UAP-AC-LITE into a EdgeRouterX but after power issues I upgraded to the Security Gateway which is a much better experience. Installed the UniFi software on my Macbook Air, it found and provisioned both, and I was up and running. Once it was configured I now only run the UniFi software when there's a need to check the system. This is enterprise grade with well considered management options and monitoring through an intuitive interface (four WiFi networks, customizable guest web page, deep packet inspection...) Great performance thus far, and with the UAP-AC-LITE using PoE I can have it on UPS while placing it anywhere there is an Ethernet port, like tucked behind the TV :-) Now looking to invest in a Cloud key (an independent little box to run the UniFi software) and a UniFi switch (to give more PoE). I'm hooked...

By far the most advanced router I've ever bought but still very user friendly. I look forward to seeing how it preforms longterm.

Just what I was looking for in a simple basic manual flash. If you need more advanced options there are other units out there but this is all I need for what I shoot.

ASUS, in my opinion, has the easiest to use interface for setting up your router. You can be a s simple or advanced as you wish. The router speed and range are great. I am in an older, unwired home and used my old router along with a new zen to form a mesh, it was super easy to setup and my network is running smooth with great coverage for all my devices even in the bonus room above the garage. Highly recommended.

This router has a good connection speed and advanced administrative features like RADIUS. Admin panel is easy to use so got it up and running fast.

Love this router and all the advanced features it poses. Really nice interface and hardware. I like that it looks like an spider, The signal was totally improved and reaches far beyond.

This router is great for the pro-sumer crowd. You don't need to know CLI to set this up, but it has so many advanced features that are very configurable with the GUI. I really enjoy the VLAN capabilities, being able to have 4 different wifi networks, and threat management controls all within a single device.

There are a lot of options for Komodo battery extensions. I thought about the tilta advanced power module but kept coming back to this one for many reasons. Build quality is excellent, and I feel good knowing there's a built in fuse protector for all of my powered accessories. Overall a very good battery attachment for my Komodo. PS: buy the arm extension so you can have a canon bp battery attached simultaneously, that's where its at.

if you can afford it, get this one. all the advanced features are worth every penny, stabilisation, full frame. recording options, etc, no cons for me.

Windows10 on Dell hardware. We needed to adjust the advanced options and turn off the variable rate features on the client driver. Dropping back from 200-300Mbps volatile to a fixed 54Mbps WIFI connection was far more stable with less variation in our specific environment.
