I was looking for an affordable travel tripod for an upcoming trip and this fit the bill perfectly. I wish that the center column could be lowered and that the quick release plate could be attached securely to the camera without the included tool, but other than that, the tripod is great. You can easily add another strip of a rubber adhesive to the top of the plate to create more friction with the camera and avoid the problem. I made a video comparing this tripod to the PrimaPhoto: check it out!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UEjZXVnnns

I purchased this ballhead to support my Phase One 645DF and P40+ digital back for travel. In studio I use the Manfrotto 405 Geared Head, but it is too bulky for travel. The Arca-Swiss Monoball Z1 really surprised me. I had used the CUBE before, but the monoball is simply amazing. It is light and just the right size for my Gitzo Carbon Fiber tripod, the base fits perfectly. It can hold a medium format digital camera with a 300mm lens without the slights worry on my part that it will hold in an position I lock it at.The engineering and finish details are second to none. This head has been copied by so many others, but they will never make theirs as nice and sturdy the Arca-Swiss.Holds a $25,000 camera with no worries. I also use it with a Canon 1Ds MK III, Canon Ef 70-200 f/2.8L IS MK II and an Elinchrom Ringflash mounted via a RRS custom plate; amazing hold at any angle.

This is a very nice camera bag - not too expensive, well made and perfect for my new digital camera. I like that this model has the adjustable 'walls' for the interior, and it has the extra flap below the top of the bag for extra protection. I was hoping that it would be just a teeny bit smaller, so that I could put the whole bag into my oversized travel purse (for when I travel) but realistically this bag holds everything perfectly, with a comforting amount of protection for my precious gear!

This my 4th digital. When we travel, I want a small camera that basically does most of what an SLR would do. This one is a bit heavier in weight than some tiny compacts, however, that can be overlooked with all of it's features. It can take a close up macro shot of a ant; zoom in and take a crystal clear shot of a jet skier at dusk. It takes photos inside without flash, clear, realistic light tones. Great little camera - it's manual, aperature priority, shutter priority - plus a multitude of auto settings, makes this perfect small compact camera. If I could change anything, it would only be to make it smaller or lighter.

We bought this camera to travel with, and to take pictures of theatrical performances. For the theatrical performances the silent mode was a big selling point. Very few other cameras of it's type have that. It may be a bit bigger than We wanted for travel, but We were only buying one camera. It is light weight, and not too large. With the 14-42mm lens it is a smaller profile. With a small prime it would be even more so. The camera has a great amount of flexibility and control. I am relatively new to digital SLR photography, having only owned advanced point and shoots before (I owned film SLR cameras, and printed in darkrooms and the like). I have come to the conclusion in modern digital photography the exposure controls are not just f/stop and shutter speed, but iso. This may seem obvious, but with in camera processing and better sensors higher iso's become practical. The standard lenses you can get with this camera without breaking your bank account too much -go down to about f3.5 or f/4. The high iso and image stabilizing technology allow for hand holding down to very slow shutter speeds (medium focal lengths). There are a lot of special modes that I doubt I'll use, there are many I've yet to sufficiently try out. The manual that comes with it is abridged, the actual one is online, and a deep read indeed. Build quality seems fine. One issue I had is that the serial number wore off. I copied it before it was totally gone. The connectivity of the camera to computers and other computery devices is a little flawed. There is some way to save pictures to something called the Lumix Club. I've yet to make that work. However, it can be made to copy pictures to your phone (as well as easily enough your computer -you will need to load drivers).
