I purchased these binos in July and took them to South Africa in August 2018.  Ive also had an opportunity to use them in the mid-west. The 10x42 is the right magnification for both locations.  I was concerned about the weight but it is a non issue.  I wear them at my side with the strap across my chest/back.   The Zeiss Conquests have a crisp, clear image that was good in Africa during the day and in the mid-west close to dark.   The only issue with these binoculars are the lens caps.  Others have mentioned them too.  The caps are flexible and dont stay in place.  Zeiss should have made them as a solid disc with a rubber surround, but they didnt. I would still buy again as this is a minor design issue.  The main purpose of the bino is to look through, not the caps.

I had the chance to bring this out on a recent trip through the south west. I was really impressed with how easy it was to lock it in, and then re-orient it when needed. Moving to portrait mode was also easy and effective. I had been looking at more expensive units after everyone stressed how important a good head was, but I am glad I bought this one because it has exceeded all of my expectations.

I used this paper to print images I shot in the south west (e.g., Cedar Breaks,Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands,Antelope Canyon etc). The textured matte provided razor sharp detail of the rocks and sand. the tonal range for highlights (snow covered red mountains) and shadow- (inside canyons) was exceptional. I'm not sure I would use it for portraits (I have not tried it yet), but I think it is an outstanding option for landscapes! The reproduction of color was also spot on. I would not hesitate to recommend this paper for landscapes

Used for home recording studio. Very affordable, well-built and B&H Customer Service is second to none. Glad I shopped around and found what I wanted for a price that was very fair.

These bags were indispensable during my recent field recording trip to South Africa. Great quality materials and the carabiner loop and name tag slot are welcome additions. I used the small bag for tripod adapters, Rycote PCS Lite connectors, and stereo bars, the mid-sized one to hold either a Zoom H1n or F3 with their power banks, and the large one to hold spare XLR cables. The carabiner loop also made me think that these might be great to suspend your recorder in, drop-rig style!
