Air Conditioner Window Unit Pulsing Fan Noise

The large sweep of the fan blades moves a lot of air. This unit is quiet. I have used other cooling pads, but the fans are much smaller. I like the variable speed fan of the Thermaltake. (The decorative lighting around the unit seems kind of silly, but is a bit entertaining.)

This is a very solid external RAID array. The hard drives install easily and were immediately recognized by the unit. Instructions are clear, and the manufacture has released a new application which makes setup and management very clear. You still have the option for the web-based GUI interface (which actually has more advanced options available).� I heard that fan noise was an issue in these units. The fan does have a temporary (15-30sec) startup at full speed, but then it quiets down quite nicely. I have the 6 bay unit, which only has one fan, so this may also be contributing to a lower overall fan noise. (That, and I have NAS drives which I selected specifically for a lower overall operating temperature.).� Overall very solid build, good speeds via the Thunderbolt 3 port, and easy interface -- a technological "hat trick."

I was interested in this light because of its high SSI of 83. The quality of light this unit output seems to accurately reflect that. The unit is robust and well made. I love the fan noise is very minimal. The app works too. Extremely well packed. It would be nice if it came with a mounting clamp for the ballast but it's not entirely a deal breaker for the price. So far I only used it on two productions, but I like it. I own a couple of Nanlite Forza lights and was going to purchase their new Forza 300 II but I am glad I went with this one. Forza 300 II is probably a lot brighter but the fan noise of the original Forza 300 is insane. The first series of lights from iFootage and so far I am very impressed with the quality. Can't wait to see their new release, hopefully like 600 and 1200 lights.

If you don't already own Software Raid make sure you buy this enclosure with the software included. The box is built like a tank, metal instead of the plastic Drobo. The Drobo I had failed before any of the drives it was protecting so out the window it went! I've had this unit for over a year now and it's still going strong with no issues. The only noise it makes is a low hush from the built it fan no loader than any other computer fan (oh and it doesn't run all the time). Any other noise will be coming from the hard drives you select to put in it! Some are nosier than others, if quietness is important to you then chose your hard drives accordingly. If you want a 4 bay enclosure with Thunderbolt 2 then this unit comes highly recommended. This also pairs well with a OWC Docking Station with Thunderbolt.

I love this UPS. I did a test and hooked this unite to my Furman Linear Power Conditioner Elite-15 DMI Conditioner that's connected to my Yamaha 5.1 Home Theater system with AC Infinity cooling fan, 5 Polk speakers with 8 inch Sub, PS4 Pro with AC Infinity cooling fan, Sharp 70 inch Led TV, wireless router, ToughBook CF-31 with cooling fan/tray. This unit was able to run all of my gear listed..for 30MIN WITH (EVERYTHING) TURNED ON AND RUNNING!

I do not observe any noise from a fan, if there is one. Works great!

This speakerphone is very clear on both ends. Was able to hear the other person speaking clearly even when my portable air conditioner was running in the room.

As always B&H was very quick to send the package out and it was what we ordered no problem. Our only problem is that the air conditioner is apparently too loud for even this windscreen to totally block the noise. It does a much better job but the mic is apparently extremely sensitive to all sound.

I got this because during the hot months I can't run my air conditioner and computer at the same time due to neighborhood brownouts. If I turn the air conditioner off the computer overheats. This covers the outtages so I can work in comfort without unexpectedly rebooting every few minutes. Thanks!
