I have had a number of Furman power conditioners in the past 30 years. The pl has always been my favorite. I have had some cheaper power conditioners also and they are not conditioners whatsoever. All they are.. are exaggerated power strips.. and when you pick them up you will see the weigh less than a pound.. because most of the electronics are missing in the chassis. Furman units are very heavy because they have actual electronics in them like filters and other things that are going to be making sure the power is conditioned correctly. Yes, power conditioners are boring. If you only have a laptop and an audio interface, you may even feel they are unnecessary. However, once you get more gear, you definitely need clean power to supply it all. If you have operated without one, and then add one in, it can clean up things that you did not fully notice before. I already use one of these, but I had to get another for a second gear set I'm building.
